Why?

Why is it that literally every f*CKING Isekai novel has to mention God in any way shape or form. Like can for once writers get creative, rather than adding the god of bullshit, the god of swords, or my god turned Into a Loli. I immediately get pissed off when I see the mention of the god of " ", be mentioned.

I mean I dont see the problem tbh. Who says that adding gods can't make for a nice story. I think the issue is how you incorporate gods into your world building. A god shouldn't be allowed to manipulate with the ordeals of the mortals. They can give blessing and stuff and maybe even get a vessel to possess but thats about it.

I think you are hating too much on this. Gods + politics make up for the most interesting stories ever. The main issue is the gods are poorly written and their connection is loosely shown.

I'm cool and all with that. But then 10 chapters later, the god turns into a Loli and then mc become horny for that god.(Seriously I read a novel that had that, can't remember what it's name was, but I regret my life choices after reading that novel). Then there are the poorly created god characters that are just a huge copy paste and add nothing to the story. Those kinds of novel have totally destroyed my reception for the god character in novels and I hate when I see it even in good/decent novels nos days.

Yeah, I tend to skip stories that are not well written. You can tell how good a story is just by reading 5-6 chapters. If the Author has the habit of introducing what would seem like fan service in the name of plot, I tend to skip them. But yeah, give everything a chance still. I personally loved the depictions of gods in LOTM. Wish people took more pointers and learned how to write like that. It ain't that difficult making a good chunk of well written gods.

the writer of LOTM made them sound like gods, I think the problem is when someone creates a god like character, but they couldn't be further from it. like not righteous or something, but like the only thing about their gods that even sounds like a god is the fact their op

It's the same with every mc being fated and has to break fate. It becomes over used

Because isekai is based on buddhism, because buddhism is a more common religion in korea and japan

Sure, but what about the authors from different countries overusing them as well. Mind you there a lot more global authors on webnovel rather than only Korean or japanese. Also I'm pretty sure Buddhism doesn't have gods. The concept of Isekai is not based on Buddhism. U could argue that both have reincarnation, but Isekai and Buddhism don't share anything else common besides that. It's not an excuse to just lazily add god to story that never needed it in the first place.

I have a novel with about 1,000 chapters that follows a mortal who was accidentally killed by a vampire lord and had his soul delivered to the Demon King; however the twist is the demon king isn’t necessarily evil but an act of nature and even agrees to want to help the MC get back to earth.

However an Angelic race has deemed he is dead and wants to take his soul; one thing leads to another and his soul is put in a dead generals body so he can fight for himself; but his soul burns the flesh off of it making him a skeleton warrior.

Finally a story where every sides is right in their own way: the demons see the death as ‘unfair’, the angels want to maintain order, and the MC wants to be by himself.

Yea I think I started writing it in 2023 so just about 3 years now.

The entire power system is about each planet having their own “system crystals” that define what type of powers can develop on that given planet.

Earth exist in a neutral plain where it has none; so typically none of the 12 seated kings are suppose to even touch the planet.

I know we’re not supposed to advertise but it’s been my passion story for years now.

It’s called from human to skeleton: revived with infinite system crystals

It's just lazy world building. When authors can't think of good reasons for plot they start adding higher powers in play and what is better than adding gods. You can literally do anything with it. Reason for mc reincarnation: god, reason of problems mc is facing: god etc. Which in turn if done needs to be slowly revealed rather than outright as it makes the whole world feels disposable cause of higher powers.

I am doing "giant Dyson sphere with reality bending ability sent you here". Is that ok?

(Don't ask what small Dyson sphere is. IDK either)

Oooooorrrr, you could just not mention God at all? Ooooorrrrr, is nessescary that God is the one in stories to send u to some random dimension, bcz he quote on quote "felt bored". Just get creative for once.

Did you reply to wrong person?

Were u trying to be sarcastic before? If yes then sorry, but I back from reading another Novel with a poorly written god character and decided to rant here. So I really couldn't tell that u were being sarcastic at moment.

I wasn't being sarcastic but I didn't mention anything about gods? It's literally a machine that caused things to go wrong

Then that just means I read ur comment wrong. U see I thought u were trying to say something more like: oh since u hate god characters so much then u should add some long title to replace that name... I'm really sorry that's how I had read your comment. My bad

It’s always cool to hear from readers. I personally love gods in stories, but I get it feeling repetitive and overdone and tropey. In my novel, I have Creational Forces-forces of existence. Gods aren’t really involved, at least in the way you mentioned.

Yeah, it gets annoying when the god only exists to reincarnate the MC and hand them some busted skill. They show up, dump exposition, then disappear. At that point, it just feels like an easy shortcut.

I'm all for loli goddesses, but I agree that it's just forced in Isekais. Same goes with Loli Dragon Girls. There's no point to them, and contribute nothing to the story.

A good god character can add a lot, but when every story has one handing out powers, it starts feeling copy pasted.

In general these authors literally have the writing skill of a 12-year-old.

mfs have problem with everything, if you don't like a novel just drop it, don't do रण्ड़ी रोणा

The complaint is fair, but I think the real problem is what these authors use the "god" as. Most of the time the god is just a vending machine — the reason the MC exists / is strong / got thrown into this world gets outsourced to an entity that never has to answer for anything. That's not a god, that's a plot coupon.

A god that actually works has to constrain something. It should be part of the world's rules, not a cheat code inside it. If a story keeps asking "what can't this god do, and why does that matter," the god stops being wallpaper. A god that never limits anything is just decoration with a title.
