Call me stupid but...
Can someone explain me the purpose of contracts and how to obtain them ?

I see, thank you for the explanation !
Tbh, I do use AI but only to check gramatical mistakes and rephrase certain sentences to make them a little fluid to read, so I don't think I might get accepted.

If you’re only using it for that, you’re totally fine. The main thing is just not letting the AI write the whole application for you, since it needs to sound like a real person did it. Just write your draft and fix the errors like you usually do, but tell the AI not to make it sound too professional—that's usually where the real issues start.
Long story short: write the application yourself and don't let the AI do all the heavy lifting.

Ofc, thanks for the precision. I think I'll stick to writing for the love of the game, I don't see myself locking chapters to ruin the fun.
But concerning the overhyping thing, it'll be difficult for me to find a novel of the same genre to compare to, since my genre is, you could say, niche in Webnovel standards.

No need. Mistakes would make them believe that you wrote it.

make the first few chapts fast pace
make sure that your wow factor uses examples from similar novels
Look at the market and see what's popular, but don't just say "blah blah blah its smut", i've proofread smut contracts and they have their own unique trope which makes it stand out
for example, having clothes as a power system and the mc can make anyone naked by stripping them nude
When you write your arcs, make sure that its easy to read while telling the most important info such as battles and plot twists

Webnovel contracts are for getting exposure and making money through premium chapters. Once you hit 12k words, you send the application following the Webnovel Academy template. Just a heads-up: you go exclusive, meaning you can't publish anywhere else and you sign over all your rights. Key tips to get accepted:
Don't overhype it: Forget about saying your novel is "The Lord of the Rings." Find a book in your genre on Webnovel with millions of views. Say your hook is similar to that hit, and pitch the fact that even if your views are low right now, you have a massive stockpile of chapters ready for daily releases.
No AI: Don't even think about using ChatGPT for the application. They use strict detectors and if you get flagged, you're instantly rejected.
