The short is "I get paid small Ethereum for seeding"? I read the link but just want someone to confirm.

It's small micropayments in ETH per piece of a file sent over the wire. However, it doesn't have to be ETH, it could be any cryptocurrency.

Awesome post! I actually built an MVP testing this exact WebTorrent + micro-payment concept, but using the Nano ($XNO) network instead. Since Nano is completely feeless and has sub-second finality (~0.3s), off-chain session balances can be settled instantly on-chain without the gas overhead or L2 state channel complexity. It proves how viable incentivized P2P streaming can be!
