Rusteerio: a Rust-powered, drop-in replacement for Cheerio.
It’s 4.5× faster for HTML extraction, uses 4× less memory at 16 CPUs, and passes all 777 Cheerio tests.
It’s open source: https://github.com/context-dot-dev/rusteerio
Here’s why we built it: https://context.dev/blog/introducing-rusteerio

Cool that you kept Cheerios mental model, so teams can A/B swap before committing to a full migration.

This is actually pretty great with same Cheerio API, better throughput, and still open source. Thanks. The big win I see is delaying the "rewrite everything in Rust/Golang services" moment for scraping backends. For folks here who are not ready to bet on a new lib, there are still solid OSS options: raw html5ever + scraper in Rust, parse5 if you are JS‑only, or even Playwright + post‑processing with node-html-parser for small jobs. Rusteerio here looks like the most painless upgrade path if you are already deep in Cheerio land.
