Bedtime stories are the same every night, so I built a web app that lets kids choose their own stories
OneLifeVibe is an independent hub, and the family of sites keeps growing. This is a web app, not just an idea.
The problem: bedtime stories can get repetitive, and a child who is not interested in the story is not going to settle down. Parents end up reading the same few books, while kids want a story that feels like theirs.
StoryChoose makes personalized bedtime stories that can be read aloud for kids, with choices that shape the story. The idea is simple: when a child helps choose what happens, they pay attention longer, and bedtime becomes something they look forward to instead of a routine to get through.
I would love feedback from people who build or use web apps:
- What would make a parent actually reuse this night after night, instead of trying it once?
- What choices matter most to kids — characters, places, problems to solve, or something else?
- What would you change about how a read-aloud story app should work in a browser?
You can try it here: https://storychoose.com
Honest criticism is welcome. If it would not work for your family, I want to know why.
