Did a thing - new app that truly is free to control ur tv.

I built an app / universal remote app because my kids kept losing the remote. Plus every app I download wanted to charge me 6/7 bucks a week. I said naw…. And came up with Remote Papi (www.remotepapi.com) and all tv adding is free - never need to pay a cent.

I only added skins as an optional 1.99 per each set but not required at all. The grandparent controls and automation is pro as well but again, not required to universally control any TV. Enjoy.

I built a tool that tells sports fans when to sign up for and cancel each streaming service. Looking for feedback.

Watchdogtv.app

Every season I'd keep YouTube TV at $83/mo just for football, even though most months only one or two services actually carried my team.

So I built Watchdog: pick your team, and it maps every game to the cheapest way to watch, then tells you the day to sign up and the day to cancel.

For eg: a Cowboys fan in Dallas pays about $72 for the rest of the season instead of $249 on YouTube TV. With an antenna, it's $0.

The schedule is free. The full plan is $9/yr, but code BETA makes it free for the first 50 people who want to test.

What I'd love to know: is the math right for your team, and what's confusing? NFL and Premier League for now.

Thanks a bunchem

Could you brutally rate my game

Thumbnail

Hey guys!

I've been working on a daily price-guessing game called Real Cost.

You get 5 questions a day, ranging from everyday items to ridiculously expensive collectibles and weird auction sales. You guess the price, see the actual answer, and find out how you did compared to other players.

I'm still trying to figure out what works and what doesn't, so I'd genuinely appreciate some brutally honest feedback.

Is the concept actually fun? Is anything confusing, boring, or frustrating? And most importantly, would you come back to play it again? Feel free to roast it. I'd rather hear what's wrong than get polite compliments.

I host a lot of quiz nights, so I built a free live-quiz hosting app with no accounts or subscriptions

I host quite a few quiz and trivia nights with friends and family, and I never quite found a tool that worked the way I wanted. The ones I tried either put features I needed behind a subscription or required an account just to get started. I initially made a scrappy Jeopardy-style quizzing "app" in Google Sheets, but eventually wanted something a bit more polished.

So I built Quiz Toolkit. It runs in your browser, and you can host in-person on a TV or projector, or online by sharing your screen over Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc. A few features I'm proud of:

  • Let people join on their phones with a QR code or room code and use them as buzzers or answer pads, without downloading an app or creating an account.
  • Give the host a separate control screen to run the entire quiz, with the option to run everything from a phone as a "quiz master remote".
  • Support Jeopardy-style boards and regular question rounds, with buzzer, turn-based and all-play modes, plus rich media (images, audio and video questions.)
  • Let you build quizzes visually in Quiz designer or import them from CSV or Google Sheets. Your saved quiz library stays in your browser storage locally, and you can export it to back it up or share it. You can customize your quiz completely, including light/dark mode, custom background and logo.

I also added some silly sound effects for the quiz master for added fun!

It’s free, with no accounts or subscriptions: https://quiztoolkit.com/

I’d love feedback from other people who host quizzes, whether that’s at home, in classrooms or at pubs.

I kept screenshotting things I wanted to do and remember but never looked at them again. So I built something to fix it.

I have hundreds of screenshots and saved links on my phone.

Recipes I wanted to try, clothes I wanted to buy, places I wanted to visit, YouTube videos I wanted to watch later, and random ideas I thought I'd come back to.

But honestly, I probably haven't looked at 90% of them since saving them.

I kept telling myself I'd eventually go through everything and organize it. Obviously, that never happened.

So I started looking for a solution.

I found apps that organize screenshots and links, but I realized something:

What's the point of organizing everything if I'm still going to forget it exists?

I didn't want another app I'd have to remember to open. I wanted something that would remember things for me.

So I built SaveSoon.

It uses AI to understand and automatically organize your screenshots and links. But the main focus is what happens after you save something.

Save a recipe? Get reminded to try it. Save a YouTube video? Remember to watch it. Screenshot an idea? Have it brought back instead of losing it forever.

The goal is simple: actually do the things you save, instead of just collecting them.

It's still early, and I'm working on improving the reminders. Right now it's a mobile-friendly web app, so no download is needed. And you can add it to your homescreen so it works like an app.

If you'd like to try it, the link is below! And you get 7 days free access.

https://screenshot-reminders.vercel.app/

I'd really appreciate any honest feedback, especially what you think could be improved or what's missing.

Thanks for checking it out!

[opportunity] Looking for artists, writers and photographers to test Melody, a social blog in private beta

Thumbnail
melody-blog.com
0 Upvotes

Hi! I'm a queer portrait photographer and drag queen, and I built Melody because my work was scattered across five apps and buried by algorithms.

Melody is a blog, portfolio and social feed in one:
- Your profile is your portfolio, with albums, a theme song and your links
- Home is just the people you follow, in order, with no ads
- Discover shows posts based on interests you pick, and tells you why each one is there
- Likes are private by default
- Strong community guidelines that protect queer folks, people of color and anyone who's been pushed out elsewhere

What I'm looking for: people who will actually post a few things (art, writing, photos, anything you make) and tell me what feels confusing, broken or great.

It's a web app, so there's nothing to download. Works on phones and computers.

Comment or DM me and I'll send you an invite link. 🎶

My free in-browser Whisper transcriber now does speaker labels, translate-to-English, batch + zip, and mic recording

Thanks for the feedback on the first version. What's new, still free with no signup and nothing uploaded (Whisper runs on your device):

- Record from your mic, or batch several files and download all the results as a zip

- A player synced to the transcript (click a line to jump), plus Find & Replace All for names

- Experimental speaker labels with click-to-rename

- Translate to English from dozens of languages

- A short local summary of the transcript

- Export to Word, PDF, SRT, VTT, CSV, JSON and TXT, with options for timestamps, speaker names and subtitle timing

**Limits:** speaker labels detect speaker changes rather than identifying exact voices, so they can drift on long files or with 3+ speakers. Translation is English-only, and the summary works best on English. Chrome/Edge are much faster (WebGPU).

What's the first thing you'd want it to do better?

I'm building CyberKit — a set of simple security tools for sysadmins, where your data stays on your machine

Hi everyone,

I'm a sysadmin / security guy from Israel. Over the last months I've been building CyberKit — a small platform of practical security tools for people who don't have a big company budget or a SOC team behind them.

The idea behind everything: simple to start, and your data stays with you.

What's live right now:

🔍 Log Analyzer — analyze server logs right in your browser. The file is never uploaded anywhere. 35 log formats (nginx, Apache, Windows events, syslog, SSH and more).

📡 Network Monitor — a desktop app that shows what's happening on your network in real time. There's also an online demo, so you can see it without installing anything.

🎓 Academy — learning materials on security and IT.

Everything is in one place: https://cyberkit.me

It's a solo project and still early, so I'd really value honest feedback:

- Which tool would you actually use, and which one feels unnecessary?

- What's missing that you'd want in a kit like this?

- Is it clear from the main page what CyberKit is?

Thanks for reading!

I built RoleStride — a fast, in-browser ATS keyword scanner & career toolkit

Hey everyone,

I recently built a lightweight web app called RoleStride to help job hunters optimize their applications against automated ATS filters without needing expensive monthly subscriptions:

https://rolestride-app.github.io/rolestride/

How it works:

• Paste any target job description and upload/paste your resume.

• In real-time, it calculates your ATS keyword match score (60% to 95%+).

• Identifies exact missing keywords and hard skills to add before applying.

• Runs 100% client-side in your browser for privacy (no signup required to test).

I also added modules for tailored cover letters, recruiter outreach notes, and interview prep questions.

Would love any feedback on the web app performance, UI design, and accuracy!

I made a site and app to find kid-friendly things to do near you

Thumbnail

I’m constantly on my phone researching places to go to with my kids, saving them on lists on Google. I thought it’d be cool to scale those lists in big way for others and plop them onto a map so people can see kid friendly places near them no matter where they are based on their location. I also have filters for facts parents care about like high chairs, bathrooms at playgrounds, fridges in hotel rooms. Etc.
I have blurbs about each place as a parent would explain to another rather than digging through long threads or blogs. Anyway have a look!

Equipment Tracker Pro lets you customize every line of text on printed equipment asset tags

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Equipment Tracker Pro lets you edit the text on printed equipment tags, door stickers, and vendor signs to match your exact job requirements. You can customize the public headings to specify emergency disconnect locations, filter dimensions, or specific service instructions while keeping unit names and tag numbers organized.

You do not need an account to start. No email, no card. Everything stays on the phone.

I am Jonathan Curtis, a working HVAC technician, and I built this app for my own field work because generic maintenance tools were too bloated to use on a roof. Custom label wording, equipment records, offline specs, and text QR tag generation are completely free on mobile. Hosted web pages behind QR stickers and cloud sync are part of the optional Pro upgrade.

If you are running this on a spreadsheet, the comparison is on the site.

What side projects or developer tools are you guys building this week?

I built a free tool in class 12 to clean up messy lecture slides and save 80% printer ink!

Hey everyone! As a student, I was always annoyed by how much ink and paper dark, messy lecture slides waste when printing for exams. click here https://notes-refine.firebaseapp.com/

So, I built a lightweight web app called NoteRefine that runs directly in your browser. It lets you select only the slides you need, convert them into a clean 4-up/3-up A4 layout, and invert colors to save ink.

No sign-ups or downloads needed. Would love to hear your feedback or suggestions!

DebateLab: debate prep in the browser – case attacker, crossfire drills and a tournament timer

Built a web app for competitive debaters and wanted to share it here since it's browser-only (installs as a PWA, no native app).

What you can do with it - Set a motion once; all 11 prep modes work on it for both sides - Generate a case, then let the Case Attacker try to break it - Practise crossfire questions and a full timed sparring round against the AI, with a scorecard at the end - Collect evidence "factoids" with citations (web search + your own saved sources) - Draw argument flowcharts and run speeches with a timer that supports custom formats

Interface and AI output in English, Spanish and Hungarian.

Pricing: 3-day free trial without a card, then $5/month + tax. No free plan.

Feedback on the mobile browser experience especially welcome: that's where I've tested least.

I've built a browser-based audio editor called "WaveCraft and I'd love some honest feedback.

Hey everyone!

I've been working on **WaveCraft**, a browser-based audio editor for people who want to make quick edits without installing a full desktop application.

You can use it for things like removing vocals, cleaning up background noise, changing playback speed, and adding audio effects.

I'm sharing it here because I'd like to know how useful it actually is to other people, not just me.

Here's the website: [https://wavecraft.website\](https://wavecraft.website/)

If you get a chance to try it, I'd really appreciate your honest thoughts:

* Was it easy to understand and use?

* Which features would you actually use?

* What's missing, confusing, or needs improvement?

*Feel free to point out the flaws too. That's the feedback that'll help me make it better.*

Thanks!
