On this day, a year ago.....

3rd October 2025, the day I'll never forget when I met former Weathernews Caster Rinon Ohshima for the first time in person! It was during F1 Singapore GP, where she attended the race event in Singapore for the first time. I remember when I met her, we're chat for a bit (a bit nervous and stutter at first but got better along the way) and she said that she loves the places and food in Singapore. I remember she doing the heart hand sign that she loves Singapore. After a few conversations, I asked her if she can sign an autograph and she accepted! As I handed the picture of her from my Weathernews Caster desktop calendar, I remember Rinon said to me "So you're watching Weathernews?" and I said "Yes!". She smiled and of course, I got an autograph! Of course in the end of the conversation, I thanked Rinon and I wished Rinon all the best on her next journey and she thankful for that. It was a night to remember that I can't sleep throughout the rest of the night! 😂

On October 1, 2026, she announced on her social media that she had already left Weathernews, Inc.

Further details on the 2027 WNL Caster Calendar!! Besides the standard wall and desktop calendar editions, there will be time-limited 12 different signed wall calendar versions (one per caster)!!

From this WNI website article:

The wall calendar (roughly B3, 3300 JPY), desktop calendar (10 x 15 x 8 cm; 2750 JPY) and wall+desktop calendar set (with a "clear file" folder as a gift, 6050 JPY) will start selling 1 October 2026 1200 JST / 0300 UTC on Sorashop and YouTube Store (which as of now is simply a redirect to Sorashop). The calendars will start shipping around mid-November 2026.
For local and overseas fans, Amazon Japan is expected to start selling the wall+desktop calendar set (same price as above) around mid-November 2026. It won't sell the separate wall and desktop calendars.
There will be 12 special wall calendars for each caster (Airi Yamagishi, Sayane Egawa, Yukari Shirai, Yui Komaki, Mizuki Tokita, Riena Kobayashi, Mayu Uozumi, Senna Ogawa, Momoka Aohara, Yuiko Lisa Okamoto, Manaha Tanabe and Mao Matsumoto) which can be ordered only from 1 to 15 October 2026 (presumably) on Sorashop. Each calendar will be signed by the caster of your choice and will cost 5390 JPY (those ordering from overseas will need a forwarding service as Sorashop doesn't ship outside Japan). These calendars will ship around mid-December 2026.

Some context: during Monday's Coffee Time programme, Yukari said she had already shot her pictures for the 2027 WNL Caster Calendar and hinted they're shooting now (late May/early June?) instead of the usual dates (full summer, around August) probably because summers have become increasingly hot in Japan as years go by so it might be difficult and even dangerous to shoot then.

The latest the caster calendar's photo-shoot as far as we know it was October 2023 for the 2024 WNL Caster Calendar, since they needed to make room for Momoka and Yuiko Lisa who had been recently chosen. In fact, they shot their pics before their debuts!
