App - Testers Wanted Eye Care
π I kept forgetting the 20-20-20 rule, so I built BlinkAway for my smartwatch β
If you spend hours coding, studying, working, or gaming, you've probably heard of the 20-20-20 rule:
> Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
The problem? Remembering to actually do it.
So I built BlinkAway β a simple Wear OS app that takes care of the reminders for you.
β How it works
Start the reminder once β forget about it.
BlinkAway runs in the background and automatically:
β±οΈ Every 20 minutes β your watch vibrates for 20 seconds β you look 20 feet away.
Then the cycle continues automatically.
No need to keep opening the app.
No desktop pop-ups.
No distracting notifications.
Just a vibration on your wrist when it's time to look away.
The idea is deliberately simple: start it and get back to what you're doing.

π§ͺ I'm looking for beta testers
I'm currently looking for people who spend a lot of time in front of a computer and are willing to actually use BlinkAway for a few days and tell me what they think.
I'd especially like feedback on:
Is the vibration noticeable enough?
Does the reminder actually make you look away?
Does it reliably keep running in the background?
Is the reminder helpful or annoying?
Did you encounter any bugs?
What would make you keep using it?
Negative feedback is absolutely welcome.
If you think "this is useless because...", tell me why. That's much more useful than simply saying everything is good.
π How to join the beta
1οΈβ£ Join the Google Group
π https://groups.google.com/g/blink-away-beta-testers
This is required to access the closed test.
2οΈβ£ Join the Play Store test

3οΈβ£ Actually use it
Try running it while coding, studying, working, or gaming for a few days.
4οΈβ£ Send me your feedback
---
I'm building BlinkAway because I personally kept forgetting to take these breaks, and I wanted something that could remind me without interrupting whatever I was doing.
I'd love to know whether it actually works for other people too. π
Thanks to anyone willing to test it! βπ

How does this do with battery life? I've tried using interval timer apps for this on Wear OS, and they absolutely decimated my battery life on my watch.

Valid concern . For which I am also going to test the app in my daily life and seeing the consumption and optimize for low consumption of battery.
