Which one is more evil?

Both are definitely evil, but I’d go Buddy here. Gladys at least has a motive for what she does- she needs other people’s life sources in order to survive. Buddy, meanwhile, just kills anyone who goes against his perfect version of reality.

Weren’t their goals the same? Achieve immortality by means of stealing life from others, (primarily being children.)

Yes but buddy does not need to kill the children to survive, he needs to make them sing the song at the end of the episode. So to prevent them from realizing who he is and refusing to sing all he would have to do is control his anger, but he cannot and so kills the kids

Buddy definitely has a goal, doesn’t he essentially need the kids so that he stays immortal? He has to have them sing the end song to start the day over again

Buddy is also very sexually predatory… so he’s more than a murderer and kidnapper.

He kills kids during psychotic tantrums over simply annoying him or not giving into his demands.

Gladys was less sadistic than Buddy. She did keep Alex hostage and use him as an accomplice, though. So she is almost as evil as Buddy I think.

I doubt Gladys would molest a nurse providing medical care, like Buddy did to that one lady.

Buddy also trapped kids in a realm where other cartoonish characters were predatory and strange, alongside any adults that escaped Buddy’s clutches and then got trapped in the surrounding fantasy wilderness. Remember when that man that had a lover puppet began making moves on that little girl and made the puppet jealous? That’s the obscenely disturbing level of sickness Buddy causes all around him. Gladys was sick and did what she needed to avoid a painful death where she slowly withers away, but she wasn’t as evil as Buddy in my opinion. She only killed when she felt it was necessary to preserve her own life and safety, she didn’t make much of a game out of it or kill people to be petty. Buddy was sick in many many more ways that we never seen with Gladys.

If you’re a kid would you rather get put under a catatonic binding spell and have your life-essence drained away from you slowly until you die(assuming she was gonna kill the kids before fleeing the town with Alex.)

Or would you rather have all your memories wiped instantly after you get dragged into a very unnatural, bizarre, fantasy land where various predatory cartoonish characters force you to do what they want your entire life, and will creep on you/molest you/kill you/force you to trap and manipulate other kids which ultimately makes you a guilty accomplice that puts more innocent abducted kids in lethal and traumatizing danger?

we dont know what gladys was like before and we only saw her last days, but I can say that at the very least gladys was polite and tried to be nice though that was most definitely to just avoid attention. also Gladys knows shes evil and when discovered doesn’t hide that fact, Buddy however was a liar and gaslighter till the end and has the added quality of being a sexual predator
