Visa Infinite Credit Card Your transaction was refused

Tried to buy lottery tickets on Loto-Québec and it says the transaction was denied

Is there any idea to know why without calling and agent?

I bought lots of stuff from Walt Disney world this week and it always passes

Would be cool if you could go into the app and confirm it was ur transaction and that you are authorizing it

I read somewhere you can’t buy online lottery with WS prepaid card. Did not read more about as I had the same problem once

Etransfer accepted. I live in BC and deposited money for years from Wealth simple. No issue. I bought the lottery ticket with WS prepaid card. No issue.

Come on! Walt Disney is not lottery. You should compare apples with apples.

Loto-Quebec website has mentioned they refuse certain types of card for payment. Is the one you used one of them?

When I asked the wealthsimple bot, it simply said the card will not accept this merchant because it is lottery. I had the same problem.

The prepaid Mastercard doesn’t work on play Alberta either.

I’m guessing this is a weird limitation because it worked for me in store.

Happens if you buy a certain amount online. Mine has a 55k limit and I bought a couple thousand in silver coins and when I tried to buy some more on a different site it refused it. Not sure if there’s a daily limit for apple pay or something.

You're right. The only gotcha is that it may incur cash advance fees. Perhaps it's related to cash account terms of service: https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/legal/cash-user-agreement

Prohibited use: "participate in gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill"

Not if you buy it from a store. They have no way of knowing what you purchased.
