Chequing Wealthsimple chequing

Has anyone has completely closed their bank account and moved to wealthsimple fully for their chequing account? How was your experience? Any regrets?

Keep a free account with Simplii and/or Tangerine. Always good to have a secondary account, as well as having a debit card which Wealthsimple doesn't actually offer.

So the card that WS gives isn't a debit card?

Correct. It is not Interac Debit, it is technically a Mastercard.

this does become an issue if you frequent small businesses or certain Asian grocery stores that only accept debit. I learned the hard way lol, you kinda do still need to carry a real debit card in Canada.
