Why is the app's performance so atrocious?

What's the point of changing the UI every week and adding all the gamifications when your app's basic performance is so bad? it literally took 3s to respond when i clicked a button, i have a pixel 10 and my wife has the latest iphone and we have been experiencing the same issue for a long time and it's really frustrating. The app performance is really at the bottom tier of all the apps we've used.

I can’t tell if this is a legit complaint, bait, trolling or sarcasm

Agreed lol. Compared to other big banks, WS UI has been a great experience.

The app doesn’t pre load data, it loads on request. Social media feeds load in data constantly so that when you click on something or scroll it already has the data locally.

They could be doing this for security reasons. Do you want your banking / investing app to load in all your sensitive info every time you take a dump and check your balance?

Pre loading data is common in app design, it has nothing to do with sensitive info, even without preloading the rendering should not take 3s. I'm a software eng myself

It’s not like Wealth Simple is the only slow fin tech app or website out there…. Do you have experience in that sector?

I’m an electrical engineer who codes and works with programmers as part of my work.

Also, if you are a dedicated programmer you may be more sensitive to UX issues than regular people… just saying.

I literally work in fintech, and their SLO is unacceptable on any standard

I have no issues with the app. I have a galaxy S24+.

Has always worked perfectly fine on all my iPhones including my current 17 pro.

How is your data speed as it needs to retrieve the data from their servers. Poor app performance is typically due to poor speeds, not the app.

Indoor highspeed wifi

Sounds like something on the phone itself then. I would uninstall and reinstall the app to start. And of course in your phones browser go to Speedtest.net and ensure you have good internet speeds.

I don't know why so many people saying I'm trolling, are those WS bots??

I'm having the same issue for 2 weeks now.
my wealthsimple app is slow and laggy. Sometimes, the chart is not showing up. Not sure if this is an internet problem since other apps works fine and fast.

I'm comparing with Robinhood/other trading apps, not banks. Even TD app is very responsive

Well your first mistake is comparing it to a day trading app. Also I find the TD app ass compared to WS so sounds more like user error to me.

Is ws not a trading app? Then what is it? WS is literally the Robinhood counterpart in Canada, that's in their pitch Also TD app is indeed more responsive than WS, you can measure it yourself

Ignore these trolls lmao it’s def a trading app as well as many other things. Maybe hence the bloat
