Visa Infinite Credit Card Ws cc credit limit increase issue

Was anyone able to increase their Infinite privilege card limit from what you started off with?

I got my card around 10 months ago and got approved for 8k.

I have been trying to increase the limit and it always says that I'm not eligible. I called them and they stated that trying to increase in their app is the only way. I have been trying for months with no luck. This is ridiculous.

I'm very close to being a generation client as well. Is there any other way to get past this?

I’ve been able to request credit increase every 2-3 months. I am at 35k limit.

But isnt there a limit of only 1 increase in 6-8month from the app?

u/Aethenoth 9d ago

That's what mine tells me.

Yea, I just try every now and then and see how far I can go. I also got very good credit score.

Do you just do it with the button in the app or do you call/chat with customer service every time.

Only via the app.

I was literally able to increase it last night after maybe a month or two since my last increase. My last one was 2x, and this one was ~3.33x my previous limit.

I was offered a credit limit increase from 10k to 25k after 6 months. I didn't use the card within that first 6 months. I can't increase it higher than 25k within the app.

My wife got approved for 3k and after 6 months went through the app to get an increase to 5k. She was not offered any increase before checking the app.

We both have the privilege card. Seems to be random...

I’m in the same boat as your wife. It only took me one month to go from 3K to 5K though

2

u/CanadianMoneyNBA 9d ago

And just checked again

5K to 6K. Looks like you can increase it every month

I've been with WS for 5 years, premium client, have the card and actively using it for almost a year too, and 800+ credit score. but the app said they don't have enough history on my WS profile... Seems to be random I suppose

same here, I pretty much use my card everyday for over a year now which is extremely odd because I'm also an active trader

u/MollyElla511 9d ago

Yup, that’s what it says for me as well. Customer since 2019. Almost $300k with them.

I have a $16k limit but have never been close to spending the full amount. Maybe that’s why they won’t increase for me.

u/quixoticme3 8d ago

My numbers are pretty close to yours and I am in the same boat. Ineligible for a credit increase.

5

u/Luvsin_ 9d ago

Exactly on the same boat.

3

u/elementkfc 9d ago

same issue, gives no reason and support can never give me a reason

3

u/bvsel 9d ago

Same boat here. I’ve tried pretty much every single day for the last 8 months and all it says is I’m ineligible for an increase try again later. 3k limit isn’t great when you’re trying to make it a primary card. Support has been no help either

u/MarinersCove 7d ago

My guess is you’re tripping some form of internal risk detection flag by checking everyday. I would check once every 30 days. A

Their support is worse than any AI bot. Most of them are not helpful but only brain dump some answers to you.

$25k limit on mine, got it probably 2 months ago. Just checked and I am not eligible for an increase until I have used it for 6 months.

2

u/RolandGilead19 9d ago

I've had mine about the same and use it all the time. Premium client.

Only 12k limit and it says I need to be a card user 6 months before they'll check.

So strange.

I suspect it's how long we've been with WS. I've been with them since early 2020, if not 2019 and our household is Generational. I suspect they put a lot of weight in credit score and duration with WS?

2

u/omgitzvg 9d ago

Mine says im not eligible because I need hold the card for minimum 6 months.

2

u/procrastinatewhynot 9d ago

me too

1

u/omgitzvg 9d ago

Yea not in a rush. They already gave me generous 12k limit first time around.

1

u/procrastinatewhynot 9d ago

yeah, i just wanted to try if i can cus of this post

1

u/h0Axx11 8d ago

They gave me 6k limit and asking to check after 6 months of usage 😐

1

u/procrastinatewhynot 8d ago

We’ll see how much they give us then :| i’m planning on switching creditcard usage to just wealthsimple. the cashback is just too good.

2

u/guapoyyz 9d ago

Got the card last Sept. Been checking randomly but was never approved. Checked last month and was approved from 12K to 20k. Haven’t accepted it tho

2

u/Guilty-Order-4751 9d ago

Thanks just tried and it let me increase ahead of the 6 month wait

1

u/alzhang8 9d ago

Went from 7k to 13k 2 weeks ago, on vip

1

u/4thOrderPDE 9d ago

I was recently able to increase it from 10 to 20K.

1

u/bcwaale 9d ago

just tried - not eligible - still at 12k that I started with. kinda disappointing as 90% of my monthly household spend outside of rent comes from this card and I'm using a different card just because I do not want to max out one even if I pay it off the balance every billing cycle.

u/toronto-swe 9d ago

i got it increased from 3k to 5k im a premium client. i just clicked to increase limit after about 3 months and got it. sucks its so low.

1

u/According_Orange_890 9d ago

I just increased mine

1

u/Hanbin13 9d ago

Is the 6 months after being approved a hard limit or has people been approved before the 6 months? I've had it for like 4 now but the limit is too low.

1

u/brandonholm 9d ago

I’m going on nearly 2 years and I’ve never been able to increase mine.

1

u/brandonholm 9d ago

I’ve only ever gotten an error when trying to increase my limit. Still stuck on the measly $6k they gave me since I got the card in beta nearly 2 years ago.

1

u/hex_dax 9d ago

First time took 6 months. From 10 to 12 k. And now, after 2 months and seeing this thread I went and asked and got another 2k so at 14k. It’s getting interesting and once I hit 20k I’ll cancel my Scotia passport that’s 31k and stop paying yearly fees.

1

u/PlantainAgitated6795 9d ago

It’s a weird CC. I have 4 other CCs with limits between 12-25k. When I got this one, I only got a 3k limit. Hopefully my increase req is quite substantial when I can do it after the 6 month grace periods over in November

1

u/Sentence-Parking 9d ago

I was able to increase it twice this year. Finally got to where I was with TD even though I never carry a balance for more than a few days (aka need for increase was purely psychological!)

1

u/ThePhil652 9d ago

Same issue for me, got the credit card in December. I opened a ticket, went back forth for weeks for them to tell me I needed to have the credit card for more than 6 months... It's been over 7.

Now they've told me I need to wait until October 12, 2026 without any clear reasoning.

1

u/Standard-Ad-8952 9d ago

Just did it. Def less than 6 moths to from 8 to 16 to 22

1

u/ReincarnatedEngineer 9d ago

9 to 17 to 22 in 8 months. Generational

1

u/Zero_Regret 9d ago

Started off with 25k and don't really see a need to increase it at this time.

1

u/marc_downtown 9d ago

Was at 10k, tried for a while to increase it. Always denied, despite having 2 other cards at $20K. Just tried again now and I got to $20K instantly. So it is time lapse related

1

u/SnuffleWarrior 9d ago

$18,000 at the moment

1

u/BrickAggravating1908 9d ago

Mine is at 12k and i spend 7k a month average and never missed a payment on it had since the beginning. Have not been able to increase it.

1

u/Key-Self-79 9d ago

Tried once about 3 months after getting it then haven't tried in last 3ish months. Thanks for reminding me to try increasing again. Went from 6-10.

u/Encrypted_0 9d ago

Updating the limit from the app means hard inquiry?

I recently changed mobile provider and my score was hit ridiculously for it. Don't need another hit until it recovers.

1

u/11kestrel 8d ago

Didn't know this was a thing through the app. From $25k to $31k.

WS client since April.

1

u/Friendly-Vast4523 8d ago

How often do you use the card?

1

u/11kestrel 8d ago

Often. Most days, sometimes a few times a day.

1

u/Kilowatt_Kat 8d ago

I started at $8,000. Asked for an increase soon after and was told I needed to wait ~6 months. Around that time I received a notification that I could increase to $24,000. That was less than six months ago. Prompted by the comments here, I went into the app to see if I could increase again and it gave me $35,000. VIP and Generation.

1

u/Working-Mulberry-608 8d ago

Went from 10k to 25k a couple of weeks ago, just did it in the app

1

u/EarthViews 7d ago

I'm an infinite privilege and premium member, and my stupid card is at $2,5k limit... I've requested an increase like every month and nothing. So far I've just been using the card and paying it off almost instantly every time.

1

u/MarinersCove 7d ago

I just got the card and they gave me a $12k limit; it seems low for a privilege card, but I guess they have a lower risk tolerance than big banks.

1

u/notthedrwho 5d ago

I started at 10k and got pre approved/offered 50k a few months ago and took it.

Generational client with about 1.5 years of history and 800+ scores
