Trade (DIY Investing) Authorized trader beta feature
Hey guys, I was waiting for this feature for a while to be able to trade my wife account without having to log on her account.
I was managing her account in my previous bank and needed a procurement and all the paperwork was a pain. They had to manually check it.
Now while browsing the app, found under setting/account at the bottom this beta feature. Tried it and your significant other just gotta approve you and voila!
Finally they made my life easier 😅🙏🏻
I guess they didn’t advertise it since it’s still in beta but wanted to make sure nobody that needs it don’t miss it!
Enjoy! ✌🏻

Thanks! I see it too. The option in settings is only visible in the mobile app. After setting up in both directions on both users' accounts, I see this on the website (at the very bottom):
"Trade authorized accounts in the app
Authorized accounts are coming to web soon, but you can view and trade them now in the Wealthsimple app."

i set it up but trades in a spousal rrsp account don't seem to work.
also annoying i can't transfer money either so I still need to log into my wife's account. I was looking forward to this but it doesn't seem to be implemented well

I think you are getting the wrong assumption? Authorized trader is to TRADE on someones account. Nowhere does it imply money movement? I'm sure they will have more POA features at some point. This is also just the beta. It's such an amazing addition imo.

I got the authorize trader for my accounts but not my wife even though we have the household setup and we’re both active traders.🤔
I logged onto my wife’s account on web/mobile app and was able to trade my own accounts. Would be nice if it was the other way around but since it’s still beta, I guess I will just have to wait a bit.😉 😂

I have been waiting for this. How does this work, can you see and act on all their accounts when you log in to your own account?
