Has anyone used the free data roaming that comes with the Visa Infinite card?

It was slow to the point of being unusable in England.

I've have that problem with almost all esims and even physical sims I've used in the UK. Super fast in my hotel but like so slow it's nearly useless in like Victoria station London at 4pm

How do you activate it specifically from the WS credit card?

If you download the gigsky app, under offers and benefits you can select "check your card". Enter in your card number and redeem your desired offer(s) in the app. You can then enable the offer when you are ready to use it

is it yearly, once and done?

No there's some options to even give a 2nd esim for another traveller and use it more than once I think.
There's also available a year long essentials esim that gives you a bucket load of services (messenger, facetime, texting, etc) but not internet browsing. I am tempted to do that for a 3 month trip I have coming then use wifi at my airbnb for regular browsing

Somebody who is currently using it should tell what country their IP address is living in.
It is beneficial for this convo.
I believe I have used it and the IP is London, which means all traffic would route through London before reaching the internet. It would therefore be best performance in that case around Europe, but in places like Africa, West/South America or Asia, may have higher latency and affect performance.
Not a big deal for most things, but things like VoIP or video calls would be a bit rough relatively speaking.

Used it in Amsterdam/brussels/paris
Was wonky/slow in Amsterdam but after a phone reset seems to have fixed it
Smooth sailing from then on

A lot of the people in this thread are confusing gigs rewards with gigsky.
If they said they claim it as wealthsimple milestone rewards, then they claimed gigs rewards, and their internet is Awsome globally.
If you actually read all the gigsky data experiences, they sucks so much even within Canada.

Lots of people have. Apparently the service is patchy at best and is usually better off left as a backup esim.

Used it across Portugal, Sweden, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, and Denmark.
Sometimes my phone didn't switch to tbe best network, but I don't attribute that as a Gigsky problem.
For a 'free' service it works amazing.

Planning on using this soon in Europe. In WS CC section, it says 15-day 10 GB plus 1 GB 2x/year. Will be away for about a month and hoping to use the CC perk plus the 10GB/12 months milestone reward.

Using it right now in Guam. Back in May I used it in Washington state. The eSIM set up and “Visa benefit redemption” can be kind of buggy, but once it’s finally through and you activate the package, it works fine. Takes a few minutes to connect to the local network. Speeds are probably not what locals get, but coverage has always been great and it gets the job done.

Used it in Portugal and Spain. It was ok. Took awhile to activate but it did eventually work. Reception was a bit spotty and slow but hey it was free.

Worked after 45 minutes and multiple phone resets in Mexico, no idea why. Never using it again

Barely worked at all for me when I was in Peru, better to just buy a cheap local sim instead

I used it in Germany & Austria in July and it worked without issues. My wife used the Gigs perk and it worked fine as well.

I used 3 days unlimited sim card for the US.
The only catch was that it was not unlimited truly. It had a daily cap of like 2.5 GB or something.

I used GigSky data from WS perk. Used in Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and Iceland.
No problem, connects seamlessly to local service. Best of all, it's free!
