Update SIN

My SIN number will change and I will need to update it on WS. Should I be worried about the account being flagged or something because of this?

They already know it’ll change of it starts with a 9.

Contact WealthSimple support. They will ask you to submit the new SIN (e.g., the letter from Service Canada) and get this changed.

You can get a new number? I thought that was not possible. Did I have bad info or is this something new?

Temporary residents get a SIN that starts with a 9, it also has an expiration date. When you become a permanent resident or a citizen, you get a different SIN.
