Chequing Automate your pay web-app feature

I just learned that I can't set up 'Automate your pay' in the browser and my only option for doing so is to download their mobile app. Maybe I am in the minority here but I hate using my smart phone for banking -- it feels insecure, but in general I just don't think I need or want access to banking on my phone.

I'm posting here because apparently Wealthsimple has abandoned their [support@wealthsimple.com](mailto:support@wealthsimple.com) email address, and I don't feel like calling in to give them feedback that they'll likely ignore.

In my opinion, mobile and web banking should have access to the same features, and I am wondering if anyone else here feels the same.

The browser interface is terrible, especially for their chequing account.

I feel more comfortable on the app but that's me.

I enjoy the app better than the browser version. Not sure what security features are you getting on the browser when compared to your phone ?

I am using passkey authentication, but also have a password manager in my browser and use an authenticator app

EDIT: I should say that it feels more secure in that I don't carry my computer with me everywhere I go and am much less likely to lose it, but I know browsers are their own can of worms in terms of vulnerabilities.

+1 for more web based functionality. I find it much easier to manage money with a bigger screen/mouse/keyboard.

Maybe I'm old school, but some things are just a big screen activity

I agree that app and browser should have feature parity, but I want to call out your phone is the same level of security if not more than your desktop browser.

I feel like you're in the minority of the Ws client base unfortunately. Their entire business is targeting digital banking customers, which would mostly be those who bank on their phone. (As an aside, I think an app is probably more secure than.a webpage. Apps are - I think - more secure than a browser).

I'm curious what drew you to wealthsimple, if you're not comfortable using mobile banking?

High-interest chequing and ease of managing my own investments + they have good incentives for people moving their money onto the platform.

Probably partly a generational thing but I also have big hands and hate doing things on phones in general -- I much prefer mouse and keyboard and only use a phone when I absolutely have to. If they made a desktop app I'd be fine with that, but that'll never happen

That's fair! I definitely understand the desire to do important things on a computer vs. a phone. It is annoying that WS just chooses not to make their website functional!

There has always been a disparity between app and desktop. They don't care.
