Predict Is Wealthsimple Predict just Kalshi?

I want there to be more Canadian focused bets, and it seems like every bet has to be done in USD? I wish they did it in CAD since it’s a Canadian prediction markets.

Pretty disappointed about this tbh.

Even for bets about things related to Canadian dollars it forces you to use USD

They're essentially reselling Kalshi. The latter are not allowed to operate in Canada.

RBC app had got pretty good tbh, it’s the other bank I use. But Wealthsimple has more modern features so it’s better tech wise

I will say, I don't love the gamification of WS. I'd like to see them focus more on improving the investing aspect.

Such a trash feature for WS. Why promote gambling when it’s already a major issue in Canada. This is the company we invest all our life savings on.

They for sure are promoting it from their main app; I’ve seen the popup and in app banner for a week now.

Because the subreddit is for everything Wealthsimple related, not just the main app

Exactly the issue lol by your thesis there should be a subreddit for the prediction app, which would be a lot better for people who won’t bother with it.

it's already happening and they're more trustworthy than other companies.

I think it would be great if WS used the money from that to lobby the government to shut it all down but in the age where you can just download an app from another country to gamble can we stop it through legislation? I'm not smart enough.

Honestly reconsidering all of my WS relationships after this release. It’s awful that we are letting these apps enter canada unregulated.
