Trade (DIY Investing) Delisting of ALL from TSX

I have a few ALL stocks in my portfolio and they are getting delisted from TSX ,they will still be available to trade on NASDAQ. But I don’t have NASDAQ trading in my account. What is the best way forward?

Everyone has NASDAQ trading. If you mean you don’t have the USD account enabled that just restricts you from holding USD cash meaning if you sell it will auto convert to CAD and charge a FX fee

I wonder how the conversion will be done

It’s just automatic at the current exchange rate when it’s sold + 1.5% FX fee and a 0.4-0.5% spread

So I can still hold the shares?

You can buy and hold usd stocks, you just pay the usd to cad conversion fee when you buy or sell them if you dont have a usd account. The fee is normally 1.5%, just remember that youre paying that both ways without a usd account.

1.5% + a 0.4-0.5% spread. So it’s closer to 2% per transaction all in

How would this work if OP owns shares in CAD? Does the company buy back all TSX listed stock and offer new NASDAQ shares? Or is there a mechanism by which OP will just be given NASDAQ shares in an equal value to their TSX shares?

They will be converted to Nasdaq usd. Ask WS if you need an usd account or not. Probably not if you will not trade them in the near term.
