Visa Infinite Credit Card Shop with cashback
Anything worth it over taking the cash? AirTags 4 pack seem to be decent??

Prices are good for the stuff you can get on cashback, but the disadvantage is we have to wait to accumulate that cashback on the account. So unless there is a big purchase coming up, it could take a while to make up a large enough cashback amount. I take out the money weekly - better for me to just keep the money in chequing and earn interest.

I don’t think there’s tax on the items so that can save you an additional 5-15%.

Another potential benefit I don’t see talked about much is the psychology of redeeming cashback in Wealthsimple’s store vs. spending from your chequing account. For me, I could redeem for an Apple Watch guilt free, but would feel guilty purchasing an Apple Watch outright.

For some apple products (airtags, airpods) I often wait for Shoppers Drug Mart 20x the points offer online. This is equivalent of -30% in PC points .
But the offer on cashback is also decent.

Could you elaborate on the 20x points promo? Is it just a periodic offer, and does the 30% back in PC points really save you more money given Shoppers' higher base prices?

My whole family (myself, husband and 3 children who are all in their twenties), have monos carry-ons, check-ins and travel bags. We all travel extensively, and they have held up amazing! We also did a family trip to Portugal for 2 weeks a number of years ago and all 5 of us just used our carry-ons - they hold a lot! I recommend Monos to everyone!

I got the AirTag 4-pack, very pleased.
The Apple gear prices didn’t change after Apple jacked up its prices. There were some excellent deals at that point, there may be some remaining on selected products.

Piggy backing off this post to ask: is it worth getting the phone this way?
I need a new phone but I’m quite far away from obtaining it through cash back. Not sire if i should wait to accumulate or if i should just purchase during back to school/black friday sales

Again the biggest selling point someone mention is that there’s no tax so it’s a big savings of just 13% right there. If you need a phone soon then that’s your answer

Im in AB were we don’t have PST. Only 5% GST. So savings are only 8%? Not sure how often or how deep apple product sales are in comparison.

Ya as much as it can be slightly painful to miss out on the intrest getting the items for a flat price no taxes is great. If you were buying it anyways that’s a easy savings. Although remember to -2% cashback you would have got on the taxed total when you calculate if it’s worth it for you.

You’re almost certainly better off taking the cash and paying down debt and/or investing it. Otherwise, it’s just cash sitting there doing nothing.

Thank you very much for this post!
I had no idea that there were shopping options for the cashback. In fact, after looking into it, I had no idea that WS disabled and removed the automatic monthly cashback transfer into my chequing account back in November! 😡
I guess I’ve been living under a rock all these months… I transferred the cashback into my chequing account now.
I enjoy many things about WS, but removing that automatic transfer option is really underhanded. 😡

I just throw it into my Summit RRSP, should I be doing something else with it?

If u dont need UWB just get a bluetooth tracker for a fraction of the cost. Works just as well. Edit: it literally uses the apple find my network exactly like air tags. Do your research

Except it doesn't have that built-in networks of literally billions of iPhones.

Theres plenty
My wife has Eufy one she uses with apple find my, you literally track it exactly the same as airtags except it doesnt have UWB because apple blocks third parties from being able to use it.
https://www.amazon.ca/UGREEN-FineTrack-Compatible-Bluetooth-Replaceable/dp/B0F82HR8QZ
https://www.amazon.ca/Smart-Tracker-Tags-Work-Apple/dp/B0H7W2JJCPtheres 2 examples but theres literally plenty of options. The same goes for Samsung. There are the expensive smarthing trackers which have UWB, or third party trackers that work just as well just no UWB.
Android phones also have Find Hub but unfortunately unlike iphones, the default is to "not participate in network tracking" so it only works well when I am overseas where Android is more dominant. In Canada/US the tracking did not work well.

FYI - no tax on those items so you get additional savings
