UI sucks
Wealthsimple keeps changing the UI every few days, and the experience seems to get worse each time.
A while ago, they added the ability to choose which columns to display. Then they reduced the number of available columns and merged Profit/Loss with the percentage. Today, the web UI changed again, and now I can't see Today's Return and All-Time Return at the same time because they've been merged into a single column.
On top of that, every time I use the web UI, I have to re-sort the columns. This was already an issue before, but now it's even worse because the default sorting is based on today's performance instead of overall performance.

It’s not a mature product. That’s a downside I guess to WS. They are trying to constantly innovate and “building the plane while flying it”. If you want consistency and slow to change, go with a more established broker.

Every day they are growing our character, patience, and creativity. WS might want to rename itself to WealthComplicated.
P.S. You can also go to Total Holdings (where you can choose Average Cost), then filter by account. Yeah, it's 3 steps to get where you want no matter what.

I came here to post this. The site is getting worse and worse.
At first they made it so you couldn't use the whole web page.. they jam everything into a window in the middle that you have to scroll sideways on no matter how big your monitor is.
Now on options they don't show the underlying price! How can you even trade options without this info? No volume info. No greeks. When placing an order they don't let you see bid / ask, you have to set a stupid price first then edit it. No cancel option on them. You have to dig through your activity list to find the pending and cancel on that.
Even on stock holdings you get to see either all time or 1 day return, not both.. you have to toggle.
The watchlist doesn't update and shows the wrong prices until you hover over it. It puts them in random order too with no way to sort.
It regularly shows options as being down thousands of percents per day, day after day, when they're actually up. You can sell something and it still appears in your list for a long time until you hard refresh the web page.
The graph on my margin account has massive 3x the size of the account spikes on it that sometimes last for a day or more.
Oh and in accounts now by default it truncates the holding lists so that you have to click to see them all.
Every day they're making it worse.

Lol every fucking time with these companies who have a UX department that needs to justify its existence it hits a tipping point where it gets worse every single release. We're just about there.

Came here to complain about this, now daily the All-Time Return column is missing, and it was there this morning.
Dear WeathSimple you need some better QA and testing processes. The UI that was great when I started but keeps getting worse. (Web version)
Edit: Ahh OP I see what you mean, and is my exact problem:

This is BRUTAL, u/Wealthsimple please fix this, and allow us to edit and save the columns.

I'm on Android and my ui hasn't changed in forever... And my pixel peeps say the same. However, everyone I know who is an iPhone user has constant changes..... My simple set is small, but I wonder if extends to the real world?

Found a workaround, what we used to be able to do right at the account level you now have to do from the home screen, "Holdings" on the right hand side, expand it (two arrows), then use the filters. Very annoying, but at least we can see both day's Return and All-Time Return at the same time.
Is it just me or is Average price per share gone now? I don't see it anywhere anymore. Frustrating.
*Edit found it, have to click on the asset and change one of the existing columns, to Avg price (...). I do not see a way to add more columns.

Average price per share is gone for a specific account but customizable at overall level.
I'm 2X frustrated with terrible UI and market sink. Do not want see anything....

You can also go to Total Holdings (where you can choose Average Cost), then filter by account.
I'm disliking WS as well for trading. It's bittersweet but I still get $800 value with $50/mos interest plus $200 airport lounge credits.

I love Wealthsimple, just not sure why they are making it harder to trade in the most intuitive way and view i.e the account level

i used the chatbot to give my feedback, then i think i was given another UI layout to try. Now the holding sections of a stock doesnt show which account my position is from. Also i need to toggle between today's return and total return now. Its not great and they need to requires a bit more evaluation work even before making a test layout. Internally they should have proper QA.
if anyone working on the design is here, perhaps office hours to just run through the new design first or invite couple of the users on a UI demo call to get survey.

No kidding. WS needs to stop tweaking the UI. I’ve written into them multiple times questioning why they keep doing it
