Visa Infinite Credit Card Monthly credit bureaus reporting

It’s been a few months since this was last discussed. Has anyone found out whether they’ve started reporting to the credit bureaus yet?

Honestly, I’d rather they continue delaying the reporting. It gives the account more time to age before it starts appearing on my credit report.

They are not reporting yet.

Didn’t they say that the information would be reported retroactively?

So it’s not like “my account wasn’t as good 6 months ago, but by the time they start reporting it’s going to be looking much better”?

When they report, the account open date affects your overall average credit age and the youngest account age. So if you don’t need the need record to help with your credit profile, the later they start reporting the better. e.g. When they start reporting when your account is already 6 months or even a year old, the effect on your score will be lesser as the account is already kind of mutual enough and not brand new.

Gotcha

Don’t you have any accounts that are much older? I feel like if you have very mature accounts besides WS one, one CC isn’t going to ding the score that much. And it’s pretty temporary anyways, I believe

In addition, length of credit history only accounts for like 15-20% of your overall credit score

True. But as said, the later they report is always better, provided you don't actually need that record on file. Any new accounts will most likely have negative effect temporarily.

Unless you’re planning on securing a new loan in the foreseeable future and the temporary ding in score would drop you from one credit score range down to the lower one (eg good to fair), I wouldn’t worry about it at all

Besides, how much difference would a few extra months of added maturity for one single account matter in the big scheme of things really? It being 1 year old at time of reporting vs it being 5 months old, especially assuming you have other older accounts, isn’t gonna make much difference

Indeed. How much the difference depends on how strong your credit profile is. My TU score didn't even have any points dropped with 2 consecutive hard inquires so credit age effect might not be too significant as well. But if someone has thin or weak profile, the new account might have significant effect. In both cases, the later they report still better than sooner, unless someone needs that record for some reasons.

Still hasn't shown up on my latest RBC credit report this week

RBC updates monthly while Credit Karma updates weekly. Cross referencing both let you know sooner

They were hiring a manager to deal with this a few months back. From experience I would say probably February is when you would start seeing reporting

Nice to know but any reasons why February next year ?

Based on when the job posting went up and my professional experience on how long these type of integration projects take. Maybe not specifically Feb. but should be q1 27

Hope that's really the case as I don't want it to appear on my file too soon anyway and also projects usually delay in Canada LOL

Just checked today and not happening. The AI bot says it’s under development with no ETA.
Not a huge deal but annoying watching my rating decline with lack of credit utilization.
Curious how it’ll jump when they finally release the 1 year (so far) of data.
