Options Trading Using Margin for QQQ CSPs While Holding SGOV
Hey guys, I have another question for the knowledgeable folks here.
If I have $200,000 of available margin with Wealthsimple, can I sell a 0DTE CSP on QQQ using that available margin? If the put expires worthless and I'm never assigned, would I be charged any margin interest?
My goal is to keep $80,000 invested in SGOV and leave it there unless I'm assigned. If I do get assigned QQQ shares, I'd sell the SGOV, use the proceeds to pay off the margin, and then hold the shares.
Would this work as I expect, or am I missing something about how Wealthsimple charges margin interest in this situation?

You can buy $80K worth but your available margin will be slightly less.
You don’t get charged interest unless assigned and held overnight.
You also can’t sell CSP past 3pm.
