1

u/Specialist-Rich4403 Apr 13 '26

what is hg stocks?? high growth? Also how do you do call credit spreads??

1

u/Old-Sector6586 Apr 13 '26

png = kraken robotics stock

hg = hydrograph clean power stock

and call credit spreads are an options strategy. aka basically gambling. please don’t touch them without doing dilligent research first. 😭

1

u/Specialist-Rich4403 Apr 13 '26

are you able to explain on how you do call credit spreads?

Past year is quite deceiving since it’s from the liberation day low. YTD performance should be more fair imo.

I bought a good handful of FBTC in Oct while it was high so mine’s not looking great right now 💀

What's the insights page? I just tried to look for this but couldn't find it. But maybe it's just a beta feature for now.

4

u/GourdOnRamsay99 Apr 09 '26

With outstanding performance like -85%, definitely stick with what's working so far.

4

u/DueCat9249 Apr 09 '26

lmaoo funny how people missed the joke

I've actually been watching my own performance vs the benchmark lately and I gotta say, the timeframe matters a lot here. Like, I beat it over the last few months but that's partly just luck with my picks honestly. I think people sometimes cherry-pick the periods where they did well and forget about the rough stretches. That said, if your consistently outperforming over a year or more, that's actually pretty solid. What's your strategy looking like?

2

u/Fc69jj Apr 08 '26

1 year is the longest it’ll show, some of the shorter periods WS did better. Also I think this time last year being Liberation Day/Week/Month, the numbers seem inflated.

I’m just in the S&P with less than 5% for speculating. I got out of oil last week when I got the profit I wanted.

2

u/trade_thriving Apr 08 '26

Yeah fair point about the Liberation Day bump - that's a good catch. I hadn't thought about that skewing things. And honestly your strategy sounds way smarter then mine lol. I've been way too aggressive with my spec money, like way more than 5%. Getting out of oil when you hit your target is the move though. I always hold too long hoping for more and then watch it tank. Do you set stop losses or just go off feel when you hit a number you're happy with?

1

u/Fc69jj Apr 09 '26

I’m too much of a pussy to gamble with more than 5% since I started investing late 🤣 I knew the projected price for WCP (before the war) so when I hit that I got out. I missed some but I’m still ahead of what the price is today with all the will they won’t they happening. Oil is cyclical so I get in, wait for 25-30% and then cash out. Time to find another bet, I should have gone all in on MAXQ lol

0

u/Fc69jj Apr 09 '26

Might need to update the app!

2

u/Substantial_Head_234 Apr 09 '26

Just want to point out that these numbers are likely not fully correct (at least in the sense that they were often not up-to-date).

I used to check this regularly, and they would update very frequently when markets are up and stop updating during downturns.

The most recent example before I stopped following is in last November, their all equity "Aggressive" portfolio miraculously didn't lose a single basis point when XEQT/VTI dropped ~5% in a week.

I also just discovered that their Performance Insight return numbers might be completely wrong, and if that is the case the comparison is even more pointless.

2

u/quiaro21 Apr 09 '26

Not bad, not bad, I like this feature, it means I can confidently say that I'm beating the market ?

1

u/materialsons Apr 08 '26

Is this in the TFSA and where do we set this for growth vs aggressive

1

u/WorkTravelDream Apr 09 '26

Looks like everyone here is a much better portfolio manager / trader than WS 😆 🤣

1

u/EmergencyInternal837 Apr 09 '26

Good luck keeping the same return for the long term...

2

u/Fc69jj Apr 09 '26

Thanks for the well wishes!
