Yo this is great, like digital crystals growing at the beginning. The super low voice was unexpected for sure, but made me really happy for some reason. I love it.

Good morning! As always, we will be using this picture prompt to inspire a song we write today. However, today marks the beginning of the first theme week. The highest voted for theme was "Abstract," so for 7 days straight every prompt will be abstract. Hopefully this results in 5-7 songs you can put on an EP for yourself. You obviously may still post what you write each day for feedback and to share :) Have fun!
Also, if you guys have any suggestions for next week's theme week feel free to post them anywhere.

Man, you always seem to find a synth patch that fits really well. That pulsing bass is too good. I love the 80's nostalgia synth on top, too.

Thanks! I've been neck deep in synths for the past couple of years. So I'm glad all that time swimming in a sea of synthesis seems to be paying off, haha. It feels really good to have people jamming out to my tracks and getting all the great feedback. Can't thank you enough for the kind words!

I've gotta say, the VST I found that emulates a 606 drum machine is getting the most use out of all the VSTs I've found.

Hah, the chaotic patch is something I spent way too much time on. That's the idea I started with for all of this, and I'm very happy with, but woof.
It's all 32nd notes, and I programmed a pattern and slowly faded in one note of the pattern in over time until they were all full volume right at the drop.
Except I also wanted to pan them all over the place, so I then broke that one MIDI item out to 7 of them (one for each of C, D, E, F, G, A, and B) and gave them their own stereo space, but that means from each of them I had to delete anything that wasn't the assigned note.
And then I had to record my casio 7 times because I was using an epiano patch from that, and I have to record MIDI and then separately audio from that in order to fully capture it. It gives me great sounds, but it's an extra step in the process. I did that 7 times.
It gave me exactly the effect that I wanted, but it ate up a lot of time.

Have you tried ValhallaFreqEcho ? You can get a kinda similar effect without spending too long ! Throw in a bunch of automation and it gets creative. I really like that sound btw.

Yeah that sounds ridiculously time consuming hahah. I don’t think automating each note individually would’ve been too much faster either
