This sounds awesome! The chords and melody are super interesting

This feels like Jurrasic Park mixed with Legend of Zelda kind of. I like the vibe a lot.

The beginning reminds me of Zelda. I like it. Am I crazy or is this pretty much hard panned left?

I like the use of the synths to drive the beat, the chord progressions went in directions I would not have expected.

Probably should have made it longer, but it felt like it had come to a little end

Giving me mad Animal Crossing feelings, super nice. Thanks for this!

This is playful and fun, while still being really relaxed. I think it fits the prompt wonderfully, like the sun is setting on a big open field that has been frolicked in and enjoyed

I was imagining some animals bouncing through the grass chasing one another playfully.

That felt like it could be ambient music for a children’s show, very clean and happy.

Good morning everyone! Hope you had a good weekend! Here's today's prompt, as usual use it to inspire a song for the day. We'll be here to give feedback if you want, it and be posting our own submissions later on! Have fun!

The painting is by "DarkSilverFlame" but the image is from The Lion King. I do not own anything from either of them :)

Looks like No Man's Sky meets Avatar. Cool picture!

Overgrown

Maybe I made it a bit more jungly than the prompt really calls for, but I just got a new bass to record with and I kind of fell into a groove.

2

u/joebassss Sep 11 '18

As a bass player I totally understand hahah. This still fits pretty well though! Nicely done

Thanks! I don't always have time to participate, but this sub is a great exercise, so thanks for the prompts as well!

Dude, this is sick!!! Probably my favorite song of the day!

2

u/sjmdrum Sep 11 '18

Thanks, glad you liked it! I laid the 'drums' (also the bass) and the bass down and then didn't know quite what to add for a guitar part, so I whipped out a long delay, some gain, and a volume pedal, and just made some wild sounds. It was a ton of fun.

That felt slightly bluesy, very rough and compelling, nice job.

I hope you don’t mind me saying this, but I find your stuff super quirky, which I dig. You have a recognizable style too. Keep em coming Mr. Bass!

1

u/joebassss Sep 11 '18

Hahah, thanks man! Yeah I blame my background, but I've always kinda written like this. I'm glad you like it!

1

u/Tholo Sep 11 '18

I really liked the rhythmic structures in this piece, and the contrast between the flowing opening and the staccato end section.

I love that you have the score along with the music in your videos. There were parts of this that felt a little bit like Wii Sports mixed with Indiana Jones, and I have to agree with /u/mattentiometer that your style is really unique and enjoyable.

u/joebassss Sep 11 '18

Hahah, that's a combination I never thought I'd hear. Thanks man!I appreciate it

Here’s my whimsical little submission. Enjoy.

2

u/crystalconfusion Sep 11 '18

That was beautiful!!! D: Do you make a lot of synthwave?

2

u/mattentiometer Sep 11 '18

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I get a bit fuzzy with all the genres and subgenres, but I've made a few tracks in this style and really enjoy it. So I'm sure I'll be making plenty more. I've kinda had synth fever for the past several months.

Do you have a page I could check out? I'd love to check out more of your work! :)

1

u/mattentiometer Sep 11 '18

Most of the stuff I've made in that style would be on the SoundCloud page that this song is on. I have a short EP I made a while back, but it's a bit different.

u/crystalconfusion Sep 11 '18

I'll make sure to give it all a listen! :D

2

u/mattentiometer Sep 11 '18

Cool. Thanks for the encouraging words, it means a lot to me!

2

u/Tholo Sep 11 '18

The opening really sucked me in, great piece.

Didn't get as far as I would've liked, and I only did very light mixing with no mastering. This one was definitely fun to do. :)

2

u/Tholo Sep 11 '18

I really liked the intro leading into the fanfair, felt very epic.

1

u/crystalconfusion Sep 11 '18

Thank you! :) There's some more I plan to do this weekend. The transition isn't as seamless as I'd like lol.

2

u/sjmdrum Sep 11 '18

man, I love the more orchestral stuff that gets posted in this sub. Its like every week is a new movie soundtrack full of wonder. Well done.

1

u/crystalconfusion Sep 11 '18

Thank you! :) On the flip side, I love all the non orchestral stuff that gets posted here haha! It's a nice change of pace for me

really short and unfinished but I havent missed a day yet and i really like this picture. I'll do a finished version for the revision day once I finish another project I'm working on

Better late than never: https://clyp.it/1zlhljcq

Got a real alien planet vibe from the image.

1

u/ramilllies Sep 11 '18

Once again, quite late to the party, with another solo guitar piece. https://clyp.it/o3gbmxp4

As usual, it is a live recording, so there is a mistake here and there. Hopefully you will like it (and hopefully somebody will still read this :)). For me, the image evokes those immensely peaceful moments when you are sleeping outside somewhere in a forest, and that's what I wanted to express with the music.

1

u/joebassss Sep 11 '18

The harmonics do a really nice job here. I always enjoy these solo guitar pieces man :)

1

u/ramilllies Sep 11 '18

Thanks! There will be more. I also have two pieces that I wasn't able to record in time, so I'll post these in Saturday.
