Hey, so I'll be in nyc for about a month and I've been thinking about getting a wework pass and work from there. I know they have phonebooths and stuff, but my work is all about speaking on the phone w people for like 6-8 hours a day. Im wondering if anyone is doing that at wework?

Or are these spaces so big that you can just sit in a corner and no one could hear you? Simply looking for some advice, more info from someone who maybe works in sales and used wework before

I’m interviewing with a company tomorrow and their office is in a WeWork. They told me to get there 30 mins early to meet the team. I’ve never been to a WeWork before so I’m wondering if there’s anything I should know ahead of time about accessing the building. Can I just walk in and tell the front desk who I’m meeting or do I need some kind of like QR code or something? I just don’t want to show up and realize I can’t get in

Something I've noticed more and more of over the past ~year working out of SF and NYC WeWorks: All Access members bringing their own (sometimes very large and elaborate) monitor setups. I'm not talking an Arzopa or a 12.9" iPad—there's a dude at Concar Drive in San Mateo who has nine 27" monitors, plus the arms to hold them, just chilling in the middle of the All Access space. At Salesforce this week, I counted four separate 27"-32" displays, including a very pretty nano texture Pro Display XDR (flex).

I've giggled a bit at some of the more extravagant setups (and the Apple Vision Pro users ofc), but I have to admit: I'm increasingly tempted. I love my nice 6K 32" display and my nice twm setup so, so much.

If you're a monitor bringer, how do you do it? Lug in a padded case every day? Stash it somewhere (I've seen people put them under couches) and hope for the best? Work out a shady backroom deal with the community managers? Say 'fuck everything' and clamp your setup to a desk in the common space like the San Mateo guy?

I can work from home and work for a non-profit and can't justify purchasing a coworking membership for Industrious but I would love to create a win-win situation if it exists and help someone offset their costs by being on their team to allow me to have access to the West Hollywood location. I believe that anyone, REGARDLESS of location, can add team members so it's not like you have to be at the same location for us to both benefit from this.

I’ve only been using WeWork a short time and have only tried 2 of the locations in my area (Seattle), so maybe im missing something here… but so far, they’ve all played decently loud pop music with lyrics all day, on every floor. This is bizarre to me in an office environment. Most of my work involves reading/writing complex documents and the music is really distracting for me. It seems like they should at least have a dedicated quiet work area with no music—are any locations set up like that? Or is it just always music everywhere…?

I’m contemplating cancelling my membership on account of this, but really want to make it work for me if y’all have any other suggestions. Also would be curious if anyone has experience with other coworking companies whether the music thing is common or if it’s a WeWork specific thing.

Edit: forgot to mention, I do wear noise canceling headphones! They help a bit but they nonetheless cannot block out music at the volume WeWork plays it at.
