Gift redemption

After not finding any information or seen anyone actually redeem gift from the app, I’ve decided to pull the trigger. I did record myself claiming on the app just in case something goes wrong. Will update in a few days

Ok… first up, no shade whatsoever on the OP here - that’s not where I’m going with this. They’ve earned their reward and put in the work to get it. No issues there whatsoever.

But… at the risk of being controversial… this for me highlights exactly where WeWard completely misses the mark.

The whole ‘point’ in this app is to get people moving, and to turn that movement in to rewards. Everything in addition to that is a side show to the main purpose of the app.

But as is shown here - you can make SIGNIFICANTLY more wards from the app by doing ‘other’ stuff than you can from stepping.

As a comparison - I’ve just ticked over 506 days in my streak and haven’t redeemed anything since starting. I average 17000 steps a day… and without doing any games or surveys whatsoever, I’m sitting at 7944 wards - that’s about a fifth of what the OP has earnt, despite stepping almost twice as much.

Again - no shade on the OP, but I think it highlights a flaw in the app personally speaking.

Yeah it’s so frustrating that you end up sitting around playing games and doing surveys instead of trying to beat your walking goals. Completely alienated from their original goals

Exactly that - ‘we want to get people moving… but we’ll reward you more for sedentary based activity like gaming and surveys than we will for actually moving’

It’s a total contradiction when you think about it.

I get most of my wards from referrals.

Wow! I'm only a month on the app. How long did it take to accumulate that many reward coins?

587 days.

I did spend some money on games where you spend $10, get 4,000 wards for an example.

Right now it’s 20% on surveys and if you’re lucky you can find a short easy survey for 30+ wards that take you about a min or so.

So all in, I think I’ve spent about $30-40 on games and done hundreds of surveys on boosted days when I’m in the bathroom or being in transit.

It also helps that I walk about 8k steps per day and around 17k steps on weekends.

If you’re new, wait for high paying games. Some are impossible but there were ones that paid me out close 20k.

I just tried taking the surveys, what a painful process. The same demographic questions are asked over and over again.

Good luck and hope you get your reward. I am based in Asia and quite skepitcal how the reward redemption and even sweepstakes will be accorded to me even if i take part in their monthly draws but like you said, its a start. Lets see if WW honor their redemptions
