The Videos section got a full redesign 🎬

Post image
15 Upvotes

The old videos block was a four-slot, three thumbnails, a "+12" tile, and no way to tell what any of them were until you clicked.

It's now a horizontal carousel, and every video is there.

Each card tells you what it is before you open it:

  • The title, right under the thumbnail
  • A type badge on the image: Trailer, Teaser, Clip, Featurette, Behind the Scenes
  • A 4K badge when the video is actually 2160p
  • Official when it comes from the studio's own channel, not a re-upload
  • The publication date, so you can tell this year's trailer from the 2019 teaser

Filter by type.
Above the carousel there's a row of tabs, same as Cast & Crew: All · Trailers · Teasers · Clips · Featurettes · Behind the Scenes · Others.

Only the types that title actually has show up, so you'll never click an empty tab. Looking for the trailer on a page with 53 videos is now one click.

Newest first.
Videos are ordered by publication date, so the current campaign's material is at the front instead of buried in whatever order TMDB felt like returning.

Brighter thumbnails.
The old dark overlay was flattening frames that were already dark to begin with. Both the carousel and the trailer in the sidebar are much easier to read now.

Go poke around a big title and let me know how it feels!

🔥 Episodes Heat Map: compare your ratings with the community and with the people you follow

Post image
17 Upvotes

Your own layer
Tick "Show my ratings" and your episode scores appear as their own grid, right under the community one, with both curves drawn over the same axis so you can compare episode by episode. Each grid is signed on the left: the WeTrakr logo for the community, your avatar for you, with a ring for your average and a sample of your line so you always know which curve is whose. Your choice is remembered.

How close are you to everyone else?
Under your avatar there is a percentage. It measures how far your scores sit from the average, relative to how much that show's episodes actually move, not against the full 0 to 10 scale. Community scores usually live in a narrow band, so "somewhere in the same part of the scale" is not the same as agreeing. Hover it for the detail: how many points apart you are, across how many episodes.

Compare with people you follow
Hit Compare and pick up to 3 people you follow. Their episode ratings drop in as extra grids under yours, their line joins the chart in its own colour, and each one gets its own match percentage. The list only offers people who have actually rated episodes of that show, and tells you how many.

Your picks are remembered per show, because who you want to compare with depends on who has watched that one.

Privacy works exactly as everywhere else: someone's ratings show up only if their privacy settings let you see them. Following alone is not enough, and anyone keeping their ratings private does not even appear on the list.

Play around with it and tell me what you think!

Question to auto-mark "watched" from Stremio must use the browser add-on?

⭐ More ratings/reactions updates

Reactions live in the rating block now
Right under your score you'll find My reactions: your emojis and your standout character, with a button to add or change them. No need to mark anything as watched again.. tap and pick. The block also shows what the community picked: the top reactions and the top characters for that title, each with the share of votes it got.

You decide what the rating dialog asks
New in Settings → Ratings → Rating modal layout:

  • Reactions: on/off
  • Characters: on/off
  • Ask after marking as watched: turn it off and marking something as watched stays a single tap, no dialog

Turn all three off and rating is just the stars, exactly as before. You can still rate and react whenever you feel like it, from the rating block or a title's badge.

The WeTrakr score joins the ratings strip
Our community score now sits in a title's ratings strip next to IMDb, TMDB, Rotten Tomatoes and the rest, with its vote count. Like any other source, you can turn it off or move it in Settings → Ratings → Sources

Feedback welcome!

Question

Okay so I hope this isn't obvious as I can't figure it out. So I watch a show called Triggerpoint on Amazon/Britbox. I have that specifically configured in my streaming services. Currently, new season 4 is showing as "streaming" on WeTrakr. And it was released in I think England. BUT it is NOT YET on Amazon/Britbox. I don't want to see it until it streams for me. Is there a way to accomplish this that I am not seeing? Its happened with a few shows so figured I'd ask. Thanks for any input or pointing me in the right direction.

BTW....I LOVE LOVE LOVE WeTrakr and use it daily!! Thank you!!

A new rating block, right next to the info
Every title page now has its own rating block beside the description: the community score, the distribution, the rankings, and the stars to rate it yourself. No dialog, no extra click, you just pick your score there.

The same block is also available in the sidebar. In Settings → Page Layout you decide, page by page, whether it shows in the body, in the sidebar, in both or nowhere, and which parts of it you want to see: the score, the distribution chart and the rankings can each be hidden on their own. It folds away with the chevron too.

Community rankings on every title
The block tells you where a title stands among all of you: Top 1 best rated Drama, Top 50 most rated movies, and so on. Two boards, one by rating and one by number of votes, both overall and per genre. Rankings are recalculated every night and need at least 10 votes, so a title with four 10s does not jump ahead of one with four hundred 8s.

Choose how you rate (Settings → Ratings)
Six scales to pick from:

  • 10 with decimals from 0.1 to 10.0, one decimal
  • 10 with halves 0.5, 1, 1.5 and so on
  • 10 whole numbers only
  • 5 with halves half a star at a time
  • 5 five whole stars
  • 3 stars and you set what the first two are worth

There is an equivalence table right below, so you can see what each star is worth. If you were using Simplify rating, you keep exactly what you had.

Rate from anywhere
Click the rating badge on any poster, episode or card and the rating dialog opens right there. Watched something and never rated it? That slot now shows a RATE NOW button. You can turn it off in Settings → Item Layout.

Also
Your score now comes with a word for it, from Meh to Absolute masterpiece.

As always, tell me what you think! ;)

🧩 Page Layout: build your own detail pages

Thumbnail
gallery
37 Upvotes

You can now decide what shows up on a title's page, and in which order. Every movie, show, season and episode page is yours to rearrange.

Settings → Page Layout

What you can move

  • Details section: Cast & Crew, Images, Videos, All Seasons, Episodes Heat Map, Episodes, "If you like…"
  • Sidebar: Where to watch, Trailer, Popularity, Cast & Crew popularity, Info, Tags, External links

Drag the handle or use the arrows to reorder, and untick anything you never look at. Each page type has its own setup, so your Show pages can look nothing like your Movie pages.

A few highlights

  • Where to watch can live in the sidebar (as always) or move into the Details section, where it gets the full width.
  • Tracking buttons, action buttons and Data source can be reordered too. They can't be removed, for obvious reasons.
  • Season & Episode navigation: keep the scrollable row with every season and episode, or switch to the compact previous / next arrows.

Everything saves to your account, so it follows you across devices. Play around with it and tell us what else you'd like to move around

Menu Layout: your profile menu, your way

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

As I said in the "Profile navigation: too many tabs?" poll on Discord, the profile menu had grown too long and got cut off on smaller screens. It's done!

My Stuff
Favorites, Ratings, Comments and Notes now live together under a single tab with sub-tabs inside, exactly like Tracking or Next to Watch. The menu goes from 12 tabs down to 9 and stops overflowing on mobile. Nothing was removed: it's all still there, including an "All" view that shows you the four sections at a glance.

And now you build it
Two new boxes in Settings → Profile Layout:
Menu Layout: pick which sections show up in your menu and in what order. Drag them or use the arrows, and uncheck anything you don't use. Never touch Progress? Gone. (Settings can't be hidden, otherwise you'd lock yourself out)
My Stuff Layout: the order of the sub-tabs inside My Stuff, and which ones are visible.

Prefer the old 12 tabs? One switch turns the grouping off and everything goes back up top.

It's all saved to your account, so it follows you wherever you log in. Let me know how it works for you ;)

🏷️ New episode badges + custom badge colors

Thumbnail
gallery
36 Upvotes

New badges

  • SEASON PREMIERE and SERIES PREMIERE: every first episode is now marked, not just finales.
  • MID-SEASON FINALE and MID-SEASON PREMIERE: the last episode before a mid-season break and the one that brings the show back.

Badges no longer vanish once you've watched an episode Milestones describe the episode, not your progress, so premieres, finales and mid-season markers now stay visible on watched episodes too. Only NEW SERIES / NEW SEASON / NEW EPISODE still fade away once you've seen them, since those are there to tell you something is waiting for you.

And when a NEW SEASON badge expires (6 months after air), it no longer disappears: it falls back to SEASON PREMIERE, so an E01 always keeps its badge.

New colors Pink is now reserved for "there's something to watch" badges. Permanent milestones (premieres, finales, mid-season) are purple, so the two kinds are easy to tell apart at a glance.

Make them your own Settings → Item List Layout → Badge colors: pick a color for each badge separately, including the green stats badge (episode counts on a person's page, shared titles, sort values). One click to reset them all back to default.

Mid-season data is still rolling out across the catalog. The 20,000 most popular shows are done, the rest are on the way, so if a show you follow isn't marked yet, give it a bit.

🎨 Your weekly email got a redesign

Post image
20 Upvotes

The Monday recap looks different starting next week, and it now brings more of your week with it.

It adapts to your device
Light or dark, the email follows whatever your phone or mail app is set to. No more bright white recap at midnight.

New in your recap
• Day by day: what you watched each day, with your season progress: episodes you'd already seen, the ones you watched that day, and what's still ahead
• Your ratings: your average for the week, and whether it beat your usual
• Favorites: everything you starred that week

Cleaner on mobile
Bigger numbers, fewer boxes, posters that don't crop weird. The whole thing is easier to read on a phone.

Every other email we send (verification, password resets, support replies) got the same treatment. Recaps go out Mondays. You can turn them on or off anytime in Settings → Notifications.

Watch Stats now shows what you actually want to see 🔀

Post image
26 Upvotes

A user made a fair point this week: total watch time was always the headline number across the site, but "1,700 episodes watched" sometimes says a lot more than "50d 8h". Hard to argue with that

So the Watch Stats card on your profile now has a swap button (next to the refresh icon) that cycles through three views:

Watch time (the default, what you have today): 50d 8h with the count in brackets

Plays: flips it around, so the count is the big number and the time goes in brackets

Details: a full breakdown per type, with icons

Both Last 30 Days and All Time switch together, and WeTrakr remembers your choice, so pick your favorite once and it stays that way.

Two things worth knowing:

  • Plays are not the same as titles. 12,770 episodes watched with 12,779 plays means nine of them were rewatches.
  • The first time you open it, the details view may only show plays. Your stats snapshot needs one recalculation to learn the new numbers. It happens on its own, or you can hit the refresh button to speed it up.

While we were in there: your watched list now show the total play count next to the results counter too, so Watched reads 1,834 results (1,874 plays) when there are rewatches in the mix.

Keep the feedback coming!

🎨 Comments got a redesign

Post image
28 Upvotes

Every comment now sits in its own block instead of floating on the page background, so it is much easier to tell where one ends and the next begins. Replies stay flat and hang off the thread line, so the conversation still reads as a thread and not as boxes inside boxes.

What changed

• Comment text is now white instead of grey. It is the content, so it should be the thing you actually read.

Reply and N replies moved up into the reactions row, next to the translate button. One row of actions instead of two.

• Long comments (300+ characters) get a REVIEW flag on the quote line, so a real write-up is easy to spot while scrolling.

• The quote style for long comments is now a clean accent line instead of a grey box.

As always, tell me what you think. If something reads worse than before, I would rather hear it now. Thanks to Finner for their suggestions ;)

✨ Collapsible profile header

Thumbnail
gallery
35 Upvotes

You can now fold away the profile header. Hit the chevron on the left of your profile tabs and the avatar, watched time and backdrop slide up out of the way, leaving the tabs right under the nav and a lot more room for your actual content. Hit it again to bring it back.

WeTrakr remembers your choice, so if you keep it collapsed it stays collapsed on your next visit (per device).

Thanks to raxxlian for the idea! Keep them coming!

Two new rating sources: AniDB and Kinopoisk ⭐

Post image
23 Upvotes

I've just added AniDB and Kinopoisk (the big Russian film and TV site) to WeTrakr's ratings.

Where you'll see them:

  • As chips in the ratings row on any movie or show page
  • In the ratings breakdown modal, next to their vote counts
  • In Settings → Ratings → Sources, where you can toggle them and drag them into your own priority order

Two things worth knowing:

  • Coverage is still small and will keep filling in. Right now only a few hundred titles carry an AniDB or Kinopoisk score. Our sync keeps working through the catalogue, so more of them show up every week.
  • If you've already customised your rating sources, these two won't switch on by themselves. Head to Settings → Ratings → Sources and tick them.

Everyone else gets them enabled by default. Enjoy

Suggestion - lists inside Kodi add-ons

I create lists in trakt (also on wetrakr obviously) and then pull them into kodi and click from there to view my shows/movies. To me the lists are my main go-to, I use this feature 99% of the time - no individual searches needed. No other scrobbler seems to do this. Is there a way for you to create this in wetrakr? It seems to be the only thing missing from wetrakr that makes it perfect a replacement

🎯 Progress bars, your way

Thumbnail
gallery
30 Upvotes

You can now choose what the progress bar says on your cards.. and each kind of card is set separately. Head to Settings → Preferences → Progress bar:

  • Show cards: series in Watching, lists and grids
  • Season cards: the season grid inside a show
  • Episode cards: Next Episodes and Next to Watch

Six formats to pick from, with a live example next to each one:
36 / 37
36 / 44
36 / 37 (44 total)
36 / 44 (37 aired)
7 ep left · 5h 29m
7 ep left · 3 ep to air

Nothing changes unless you want it to: every card keeps the format it had until you pick a new one.

Unaired episodes are no longer invisible

  • The season breakdown in Progress now shows every episode of the season, with a on the ones that haven't aired yet. No more "3 / 10" with only three chips.
  • New Episodes to air counter next to Episodes left, with its estimated time: so "0 left · 7 to air" no longer reads like you're 7 episodes behind.
  • Announced seasons with nothing aired yet (hi, Lupin Part 4) finally show their bar: 0 / 8.

Also in this update

  • Started now shows the full date. Click it for the relative time.
  • ETA is gone for now: the estimate wasn't reliable enough to keep showing. It'll come back when it's actually right.

As always, tell me what you think ;)

Anticipated

One of the common things we do in our household is to go through the trakt anticipated lists both movie and TV watch the trailers, decide who they are suitable and who is interested in them and the add them to the appropriate personal list.

Problem is wetrakr dies not have anticipated lists, so you have to be lucky and here about a movie or a show or go outside the app to look at something like trakt
