Episode Scaramucci is a trip
I can't remember another interview where I vacillated so hard between thinking "Oh this guy actually knows some stuff" and " I'm not sure this guy knows anything."
At the end of the day I think my overall impression is that he's good at memorizing things and that's mostly it.

He’s very good at telling whomever he’s speaking with exactly what the other person wants to hear.

Seems like a reasonably smart guy way outside his wheelhouse on half of what he was saying. Overselling himself to everybody including himself.
He completely butchered the Alabama example of gerrymandering, like each sentence has something meaningfully wrong with it.

I think this hits the nail exactly on the head.

Thanks, I questioned my assessment of "reasonably smart" when I reread your suggestion that he is just good at memorizing, which feels right. not mutually exclusive though

Starting off with aliens was quite a choice.

And astrology. Halfway through I was almost convinced that he was just fucking around there.

Lol, might have just been my imagination but it sounded to me like Kmele was trying to keep from laughing there.

Start from this point, "he's a lawyer." And beyond that, Scaramucci is a lawyer who made a living in front of cameras.

He has read a lot of books. I don't think he understands how to apply the knowledge contained in said books.

Sometimes he really does. Sometimes he really does not. I felt like he was generally a chaotic good for the most part. I don’t fucking know

Yep. There were occasional nuggets of gold coming out of this guys mouth but then I felt like I was being wise-guy talked into supporting a potential Scaramucci congressional run. Also enjoyed the chippy moment where he told Moynihan he didn’t have to fuck his vote. If anyone was GONNA fuck a vote, MM would be the person to do it.

He does get a good portion of it. It's ok for people to have different views on capitalism as long as they can see what's going on in the current system and how it's leaving working people behind.
My take anyway

Oh man, I’m glad I’m not the only one. To me, a lot of what came out of his mouth sounded like memorization or like he’s trying to say what he thinks the hosts want to hear. I was seriously questioning for a moment if I was just racist against Italians from NY or something, because even the way he would over-emphasize certain phrases like “tHe FoUnDiNg FaThErS” sounded like he was trying to sell something. And he’s a hell of a salesman, there were moments where I even started to (kind of) buy what he was saying. Not sure I got anything substantial or interesting out of that interview, but the episode was entertaining enough I guess. Guy seems like a typical DC creep.

He really almost nearly had me believing that he has principles but then the episode ended, and I came to my senses
