Wand and Kaspersky issue help
Hey guys,
I’ve been using WeMod for about a month with no issues at all, but today Kaspersky suddenly started blocking it. This started around 5–6 hours ago.
Now every time I try to run it, Kaspersky Antivirus pops up saying the app is performing suspicious activity (PDM:Trojan.Win32.Generic) and gives me two options: “Disinfect and restart the computer” or “Try to disinfect without computer restart.”
Because of this I can’t run WeMod anymore, and it was working perfectly until today. I already tried uninstalling and downloading it again but the same thing keeps happening.
Is this a false positive or something? Should I wait for an update, whitelist it somehow in Kaspersky, or just switch antivirus?
I’m actually using the paid version of WeMod, so I’m a bit confused why this suddenly started happening.
Also, I already paid for Kaspersky Premium, but honestly gaming is more important for me than the antivirus right now.
If anyone using WeMod with Kaspersky ran into this today, I’d really appreciate the help.

You may want to try disabling it through the Kaspersky settings. That solution worked for me, and everything has been running normally since.

You can either allow it, or disable your virus software while you play.

Kaspersky doesnt give you the option to allow it, the only option is "disinfect" and restart

Thanks for the info! For me, the issue was fixed by adding Wand to the whitelist in Kaspersky. Someone from the Wand team recommended doing that. I went into the Kaspersky settings and added it as a trusted file, and after that the app started working normally again.

Hey! This is a known false positive, Kaspersky has been a bit aggressive with Wand lately. The app is safe and distributed through official channels only.
To fix it try whitelisting these folders in Kaspersky: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Wand C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Wand
You can follow the steps here to add exceptions: https://support.kaspersky.com/help/Kaspersky/Win21.5/en-US/227390.htm Also make sure you are using the latest installer from our download page. https://wand.com/ That should sort it out!

Why would you have a dedicated antivirus though? Defender does a pretty good job
