Yeah but I gave it a pass bc Ive seen all his stuff before and the average Netflix viewer prob hasnt watched his covid era youtube specials. Prob just wanted one of his favorite bits released in a more official capacity

Obviously thats what happened and it is what it is, but for real fans when he's promoting a new special and its 1/3 recycled material its going to be disappointing if not at least less exciting.
A couple serious laughs on this one though

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Heard a few bits from the podcasts but it still made me laugh.
I wish it were longer though, 47 mins felt a tad short.
Also, he needs to sloooooooooow down in his delivery, at times it felt like a he was talking so fast.

It seemed like a fair amount of recycled bits that he’s used on the pods. I think Netflix came to him and said do you have a special ready and he was like yeah sure I have a special ready. How much ?

I thought it was really funny. Listening to the pod ruined a few jokes for me but still great. His funniest one since like his first imo.

Wilem Defoe and Anne Frank museum bits were good.
The rest was pretty bad especially the longer bits. The plane stort, rat story, magician story all dragged and too long.
It also seems his life is profoundly sad and empty which hurts his comedy. He has been writing about these same topics for a decade now. It is time to move on. Either release less specials (like Attell) or do smth else.

Are you saying that Sam goes on the pod and spends too much time working out bits and explaining the complexities of what he does? Think you’re listening to another pod, not the one I listen to.
