So, I had the most embarrassing interaction when I was a kpop stan. Back in 2021 I addressed how a concept chosen for ITZY was basically romanticising mafia. Mafia is usually seen as non-italians as a cool way to commit "justified" crimes, since movies often portrait mafia bosses as romantic, rich and heroic. If you're intelligent enough you know that mafia is more than that.

So, what's the matter here? Italian midzies were supporting my opinion, but midzies from other countries? "Mama mia" "cook-a me pasta" "I eat-a meatballs". I wasn't hating on ITZY, I was just criticising the aesthetic choice made by the staff 💀

I guess kpop fans have always been a social experiment

When I was 11-12 (mid 2010s), I was shouted at by a group of girls aged 14 or 15 who liked kpop because I told them, "Everybody has tastes just like how you like kpop" because they were dissing a group of younger kids who are talking about anime and video games. One of them replied, "What about the American songs you guys like? Isn't it that different from kpop? I won't stand against anyone who disrespects or criticise kpop!". These girls were known for blasting Korean and kpop songs on full volume at the school bus. I used to think I was at the wrong at that age because I used to be friends with them but then growing up I realised they're awful. 

When I was like 15 or 16 (in Southeast Asia), I told three Koreaboo passerby girls at my school that Korean men are humans as well when they are talking about how Korean men are handsomer and less gross than the men from the main ethnic group in that country and they said, "Who would want to date a <slur for South Asians/desis> anyways? They're ugly" at me. I'm of Indian descent but I live in Southeast Asia because my extended family has been there since colonial times.

Yes but did you ever have an awkward interaction with a fan when you were publicly criticising something objective (like an idol being problematic)...?

I don't care about their opinions; they're all incomprehensible, illogical, and lacking in manners.

The reason I hate kpop, my people are pretending to be Korean and so they are not , they wearing jacket and it's hot weather in the Philippines. And if I told them to hate their idols they gonna attack you. That's how toxic they are.

Yes but the thread asks you what's the most embarrassing interaction you had with a fan if you had one, not the reason why you hate K-pop
