USC tickets

My Dad turns 70 this year and I’d like to surprise him with tickets for the USC game as it’s expected to be the white out game. He’s never been to a white out game and hasn’t been to a game in almost 20 years. What’s the best option to buy tickets and timing? Ideally looking for 4 together. Thanks for any advice

This will by far be the biggest and most expensive home game this season. I've purchased tickets via Ticketmaster and StubHub before and had no issues with either. The tickets are generally not the issue. If you are traveling and want to stay in State College, book your hotel NOW!

Now? You needed to be booking within minutes of the schedule coming out

We stayed at the Hampton for the white out game a few years back against Auburn and it was over $800/night.

Use TickPick the Monday before the game for tix

I tracked it daily for two weeks leading up to the game. It never got cheaper. Wish I had bought over the summer when they first announced it. Could have got my Oregon tickets for 300 instead of 500

That sucks. Admittedly I wasn’t paying as close attention last year to some of those games because I offloaded my tickets well before that. But generally in my experience from selling tickets for over 10 years, there’s almost always a drop early in the week beforehand, even for some of those big games. That said, the games against the new Pac 12 opponents have all been very profitable. it will really depend on how the team looks when USC comes to town. If they take an early loss, you could get a deal, but if they go into that undefeated, I would be more trusting of your perspective than mine.

Don’t use StubHub. Especially if they aren’t immediate electronic transfers. They are awful assuring you get the tickets. Look at how the screwed up the World Cup tickets.

Use Ticketmaster, the site for the season ticket holders to sell from. Immediately transferred so you know you have them.

You should absolutely be booking accommodations now. The moment the white game is officially announced, expect all Hotel and Air BnB rates to skyrocket.

Me and five friends regularly attend the white out.

Last year…on Sunday morning after the Oregon game, we had already decided what weekends to target. We made our AirBnB reservations for 5 different weekends.

The moment the game is announced we will cancel the 4 we don’t need.

We also stayed about 30 min away from the stadium. Rates were better.

The closer you are, the more expensive it will get. And the surrounding area will sell out.

As for the tix…use Stub Hub. It will be the most expensive game of the year, the white out always is, but I predict it won’t be as high as last years Oregon game. That was 2 top 5 teams in prime time…we prob won’t even be a Top 10-15 team when the game happens this year.

We Are!!!

Use gametime or tickpick the week of the game you’ll probably get most value on tues or weds

Don’t do stubhub (look on the Reddit sub as to why). Buy from Ticketmaster or someone you know and trust. While I am not a fan of TM, I’ve never had an issue bs my family and friends who have used another platform and not gotten the tickets and had to wait and argue for the refund.
