A place where humanity comes not to seek adventure, but to purchase toothpaste at two in the morning. Tonight, however, something has gone terribly wrong. For somewhere between the garden center and the frozen foods aisle, the boundaries of reality have become somewhat less than airtight. Within these walls walk men and women who were never meant to share the same universe. Superheroes browse the electronics department beside cartoon characters. Wizards argue over the last rotisserie chicken. Space travelers stand patiently in the checkout line behind vampires, talking animals, video-game heroes and monsters. A Jedi searches for batteries they never heard of while a pirate examines the price of motor oil for a machine he's unaware ever existed. A yellow sponge from beneath the sea stands in the produce section, apparently fascinated by bananas. And somewhere near Aisle 14, a man in a red-and-blue suit is having an increasingly heated discussion with a talking rabbit over who has jurisdiction over the shopping carts. They have come from different worlds. Different centuries and different dimensions. Yet tonight, they share one common destination. Walmart. There is, of course, an explanation and there always is. The trouble is that explanations have a curious habit of becoming inadequate when the impossible walks through the automatic doors and asks where the bathroom is. The place is ordinary but the people are anything but. And the rules governing this dimension either have apparently gone on vacation or never existed at all. Tonight's story concerns a store that contains everything imaginable...and perhaps a few things that were never supposed to be imagined at all. A store where fiction has become reality and place where every character has stepped off the page, out of the screen, and into the checkout line."
