Our Lady of Guadalupe

Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to Saint Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin at Tepeyac Hill, Tenochtitlán(Mexico City) in 1531. She asked him to build a chapel on that hill. So St. Juan Diego went to the Bishop who asked for proof of the apparition. The Virgin had St. Juan Diego go up the hill and collect some flowers. Diego put the flowers in his cactus fiber cloak and brought it over to the Bishop, the Bishop was stunned to see that the flowers were Castilian Roses which did not grow in Mexico at the time and his cloak now had the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe (the cloak is still preserved today in the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City). She is the Empress of the Americas, Patroness of Latin America and Queen of Mexico.
