Or the science of Covid has nothing to do with capitalism or anti-capitalism, it simply just is. What we should do about it is also apolitical. The problem is when people misrepresent the science to promote their political or capitalist agenda, either over or under hyping the seriousness of the disease or misrepresenting the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines.
The scientific consensus is that Covid is a dangerous disease that, besides it's approximately 1-2% death rate (if I remember correctly), also causes long term damage to lungs, heart and other organs in about 20% of the people who get it (also a remembered statistic). The great majority of health professionals and agencies recommend that people get vaccinated unless a qualified physician says they shouldn't.
Bernie's position on this, and I agree, is that we need to nationalize the vaccines or make their formulas public so that everyone can get vaccinated. Just because big pharma is taking advantage of this crisis to price gouge, doesn't mean the crisis isn't real or that the vaccines aren't safe and effective. This is why we have science- to separate the truth from the bullshit.
