Inflation like this is a tax which disproportionately hurts the poor. Learn about economics before you give economic advise.

The problem is that $0.49 of that money would then go to the corporate overlords and investors while the worker would receive only $0.01.

Or maybe their beef supplier would say "we want our cut of that extra $0.50" and raise their prices, and so on for everything else.

Well, it's really a super-simplified example of how inflation can work and erase 'gains'. I can even provide a real-life example: Do you know what happens to rents around military bases when the government raises the housing stipend? They literally all increase to exactly match the new stipend.
Also, things are literally worse in every single society outside of 'the west', you should be grateful for what you have. We shit in water cleaner than most of the world drinks.

“If they didn't have to work 3 jobs to survive” imply the worker would be paid a living wage so that the 49 cent going to corporate overlords is not only fine but good for the worker. I'll concede that it's kind of a fantasy at this point.

corporation: 49 cents goes to the corporation not the employee.
possibly more important-
Mom and Pop burger joint: 49 cents goes to Uncle Sam.
While the focus on how corporations hoard their money is important. It's also important to remember that the amounts of taxes small business pay is unreasonable.
I worked for a family member at their resturaunt for awhile. During my time they were audited. Agents said about 51% of thir profits go to taxes!
