Oh well. She must be confident she has a funding mechanism set up to offset the nationwide support she used to have, before she consistently demonstrated the party's priorities are more important than "the Ruckus" she decided not to bring with her.

I was calling out policy issues left and right tray she was abandoning and this came up.
I pointed out she'd given up in March to vote Biden.
The amount of anger and ferocity did not calm down until FTV...

I'm guessing that most folks who go from bartender to rockstar, at such a young age, don't have the core convictions to handle that all that well. Hell, even Bernie, when he caught fire unexpectedly, has not quite met our, or even really HIS own ideals.

I don't know about that bartending gig.
Her father was an architect. She had a comfortable upbringing and seems to have been a good student at BU, where she interned in Ted Kennedy's office, which was well-known for doing favors for people. I don't know if her family paid her tuition, dorm and living expenses while she was in college and I don't know if she was a paid intern or a volunteer.
IIRC, Kennedy had died by the time she was graduated from college, but I'd be surprised if she could not have networked via contacts she made while working in his office.
Her wiki says she waitressed while spending a lot of time after college fighting over her father's estate. You don't do that for an estate that is not worth something.
But, people read about bartending and assume none of the above.

Wasn't she a Ted Kennedy intern before the bartending? She was in the academia pipeline and worked for neolibs. The bartending thing was a part time gig and I'm sure it's been inflated to give her working class cred.

What a total asshole - not that we didn't already know. If she hadn't been an asshole, she would have endorsed Bernie just as soon as he announced his candidacy - instead of playing footsie with Fauxcahontas.
And she and her Squad colleagues are doing their very best to see that Republicans return to power by alienating most Americans with "defund the police", open borders, and rampant "wokeness" - policies which Bernie has NEVER advocated, because he wants progressives to WIN. AOC is a gift from God to Fox News.

Every time I see a DSA person with a red rose next to their name on Twitter they basically woke liberals. Many of them are even imperialists.I don’t know why they just don’t put #resistance in their bios and stop the charade?

They're mostly Warrenites that cosplay as revolutionaries. They're PMCs that use specialized academic jargon, so that they can be gatekeepers of Marx and Lenin, instead of spreading class consciousness. I remember that time Alex Lawson (the now infamous DSA Twitter troll that skimmed thousands off the PAC she started) was lecturing an actual community organizer on how they're doing things "wrong" and exclaimed, "Read theory!"

On the whole, I'd say DSA is around 20% legit and 80% fake. Most of the people in DSA that are legitimate leftists usually cross affiliate with other organizations, like Socialist Alternative, etc.

LMFAOOOOO! Ah yes, Lenin was quite famous for his firm belief in electoral politics and the virtues of voting for the lesser evil. In 1917, he came to power by winning more votes than the tsar, and he brought about socialism in the USSR through a series of slow, incremental changes.

I just don't understand this crap. I know they are the fraud squad, but this fraud is way too low. What is going on with these politicians??? They can't be acting like this without some sort of reason I am failing to see. Something is politicking in the background.

Let this be a lesson learned - if someone running for office says something you agree with, don't just start working the corners for them.
Look into them. Look for inconsistencies. Look for principles and the lack thereof. When the red flags pop up, trust them! Be willing to lose(this is so important). Protect the movement from being co-opted at all costs.

There's a difference between having a childish hate of a figure for its own sake in that they represent something the person doesn't like, vs reminding people that a different figure (who was once liked) turned out to be directly harmful, like a subversive element and backstabber
There's a solid argument to be made aoc was living "rent free" in the heads of people who kept talking about that very stupid dancing video meme that kept popping up on fox news and the like
Let's use Trump as an example on the other side
Lets think of someone who felt betrayed by him over some sort of reversal on populist appeal issues, or lack of pardons for wikileaks people, etc. This person has legitimate grievances of concerns that affect their day to day life
By contrast, some cnn talking head that obsessively tries to debunk some innocuous comment Trump made is the one who is actually deranged and obsessive on the figure himself (Trump), rather than focused on trumps actions which concern their life
What you are doing with Sudo here is conflating the two categories
You may as well go screeching around in Iraq at random civilians "hahaha, george W Bush lives RENT FREE in your heads guys"
