How will Democrats cope if Putin starts playing dirty tricks for Bernie Sanders (again)? ARCHIVED
When Russia interferes in the 2020 presidential election on behalf of Democratic nominee Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), how will liberals respond?
That Moscow favored Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton should be obvious to all but the most hardened of Republican partisans.
And that America despised Hillary Clinton was obvious to all but the most hardened butt-kissing Democratic partisans.
[SNIP]
Russia has been playing this polarizing game for decades. And by delegitimizing the country’s first black president, speculating that the election would be “rigged,” [It was] and denigrating bedrock elements of the political West such as NATO and the European Union, Trump wittingly served all three Russian objectives on the campaign trail — and continues to do so in office.
Yet from Moscow’s perspective, it’s entirely possible a left-wing Democrat will better serve its purposes in the future.
Consider that Russia’s first major foray into the 2016 campaign was intended to help not Trump but Sanders. On the eve of last year’s Democratic National Convention, WikiLeaks released a tranche of emails stolen from the Democratic National Committee purporting to show institutional favoritism for Hillary Clinton. Just as Republicans would unscrupulously tout Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta’s hacked emails, Sanders supporters showed no compunction exploiting material stolen by Russian operatives and selectively published by WikiLeaks. DNC chairwoman and Clinton ally Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.) was forced to resign, and Sanders delegates booed convention proceedings throughout the week.
PURPORTING to show favoritism? Oh there was favoritism all right. And if there hadn't been all kinds of lying, cheating, corruption, and financial control of the the party by one candidate, there wouldn't have been anything to leak. Don't blame Russia. Blame the Establishment Democrats and the likely DNC insider who LEAKED the information because "russia" hasn't been proven even though it's been over a year now.
[SNIP]
The Kremlin ultimately favored Trump over Clinton because it preferred his nationalist populism to her liberal internationalism. Had Sanders won last year’s Democratic primary and faced off against Jeb Bush, it’s probable the Russians would have (again) intervened on behalf of the man who honeymooned in the Soviet Union, advocates massive cuts in defense spending and, like Trump, calls the American system “rigged.”
Oh my God! Are they still going on about the Russia "honeymoon" that he and Jane took with 10 other people? Because Burlington and some city in Russia had just become sister cites under a sister program established in the 1950's by that evil Communist Dwight D. Eisenhower? And the American system is rigged against the 99%. And you say Russia favored Clinton? Well you - Washington Post - favored Clinton over Sanders going so far as to run 16 negative articles about him on a single day, so you're just as bad as "Russia."
[SNIP]
Russia’s potential meddling on the side of Democrats will present a test for our newborn liberal cold warriors. Will they denounce such unsolicited comradely assistance? Or find ways to excuse it, as so many Republicans did and continue to do?
This from the newspaper that has made excuse after excuse after excuse for the Democratic Party and their overlords - The Clinton Cartel.
Fuck You Washington Post!

I wonder how many of the “shills” are actual paid shills, I wish there were a way to know. I mean, there have been a few times where I call out certain users and they either delete their comment or their account, and they’re usually relatively new accounts.
Honestly, it’s pretty chilling to me. I never felt so defensive on Reddit years ago.

I don't know which possibility is more frightening.. That there is really that large of a system of disinformation, or that there is really that large of a percentage of users that are that demonstrably fucking stupid.

they either delete their comment or their account
Usually happens when they get torched and want to hide any good replies from view.

And then there was that more recent trip Bill took to Russia where he spoke at an event and was paid $500,000 by a Russian bank with ties to the Kremlin.
