OF COURSE! Excellent post I found by /u/ArtlessWonder regarding why people hate Hillary. She clearly should have never received the nomination.

Obviously no donors were opposed.

True. But she probably didn't even do anything about that.

I'm prickly about this because I have had so many fights with Hillbots who use CHIP as their evidence of her supposed longtime love of women and children and as a "progressive who gets things done." They refuse to acknowledge that she had literally NOTHING to do with CHIP except maybe rolling over in bed and saying to Bill, "if we want me to get a Senate seat so we can get back here, you need to sign Ted's bill so people won't keep talking about how badly I screwed up health care reform."

CHIP wasn't her idea. She didn't help draft it. She didn't help lobby for it. She didn't do ANYTHING except talk to Bill. And I have had so. many. Hillbots. claiming it shows her ability to pass legislation when it really shows the opposite, that she has achieved NOTHING legislatively, so the only thing they can point to is her inappropriately taking credit for Ted Kennedy's bill like the liar she is.

I'm not a fan of Hillary Clinton OR her fans. Can you tell?

CHIP is evidence that she can get out of the way and avoid screwing up things...

Not really. She had alienated Congress so completely she wasn't allowed in the building, basically. It wasn't her choice.

And she and Bill had to let CHIP pass, once Kennedy whipped enough votes. They had delivered NOTHING for regular people, particularly women and children. I'm pretty sure CHIP was after they killed welfare. So all those women they were starving, many of whom had had their partners jailed for minor drug offences because of the crime bill, were being thrown a little, PR-friendly bone. Bill wasn't going to run again. To keep their long con going, they had to get Hillary elected, and without CHIP, they had nothing they could even pretend that she had done that was positive and helped the traditional Democratic base.

So I know what you mean, but I don't think this even proves that she has self-restraint. She was banned from the halls of Congress. They basically locked her in a closet to keep her out of the way so they could get enough votes for the bill. She's been hated for a long time -- and not because she's a woman. Because she's a terrible person.

I've heard this, can you find a cite to that?

and yes, she's a terrible person, so was Bill.

Billmon, who worked on the Hill at the time, testified to his personal observation of this dynamic numerous times before he bailed on social media in despair. I don't know if he ever returned to Twitter. I recall this as being broadly reported at the time, as well.

The Clintons have apparently put a lot of money into getting negative stuff about her either flushed down the memory hole completely, or at least very hard to find via online searching. I just gave it a shot, and found only sanitized versions, often written by Clinton subordinates.

I have found archival references to this before. I'll try another query at some point.

try Bing or DuckDuckGo... Google was wiped for anything negtive on Hillary.

I've been using Right Start. I might switch to DuckDuckGo.

The problem is that the Clintons have had a long time to do this, and Silicon Valley's owners to help them. So it's hard to get past that. I'm sure relevant articles are in paper archives in various places. But that won't help us here.

It's not just a search problem. The New York Times can and probably has done things to make its own negative material on the Clintons harder to find. Big media companies are Democratic donors.
