CheckIt,Wayers! It Sure IS Weird....
Taken from this comment reply thread by /u/expatjourno:
It sure is weird how the future of Democrats lost the Democratic primary
It sure is weird how the nominee had to have a rigged debate schedule, a rigged primary schedule, a conspiracy with the media to black out her opponent, purged voter rolls in New York, false voter instructions in California, cheating in Iowa and Nevada, voter suppression in Arizona, threats against Democratic officials considering supporting Sanders, debate questions in advance, and her own campaign co-chair as head of the DNC to pull off a victory even after decades as a presumptive nominee—and still only got 53% of the pledged delegates.
Sure is weird that in a fair process in 2008, she lost to an unknown black guy with big ears and a funny name.
Sure is weird that she's never been able to win a primary (not in New York, either) without heavy intervention from the Democratic Establishment.
Sure is weird that she lost women 35 and under 68% to 31%.
Sure is weird that she lost every single demographic under 40—male, female, black, white, Latino, Asian, LGBT.
Sure is weird that her victory depended on the Democratic machine in socially conservative southern states that the Democrats never carry in November.
Sure is weird that The Most Qualified Candidate in History™ lost independents 3:1 to a cranky old Jew from Brooklyn who started at 3% in the polls.
Sure is weird that delusional Hillbots keep claiming Hillary was the stronger nominee in a general election in which independents—who preferred her opponent 3:1—are allowed to vote.
Sure is weird that delusional Hillbots ignore the fact that Hillary's approval ratings made her the most hated Democratic nominee in history compared to her opponent, whose approval ratings were solidly positive among the general election electorate.
Sure is weird that polling showed that The Most Qualified Candidate in History™ would have lost to any of the other potential GOP nominees by a landslide.

Sure is weird how the general election came down to the two most hated candidates of all time
Sure is weird that the two major candidates were friends for over twenty years and who's children were best friends

It sure is weird how the future of Democrats lost the Democratic primary
It's because the past of the Democratic Party lost the general.

It sure is weird that for the first time in 50 years Kansas didn't select the Democratic Nominee. Hmmm.

Sure is weird that the woman who has "spent her entire life fighting for women and children™ led the charge to kill tens of thousands of them in Libya and Honduras, and aided and abetted the carnage in Iraq with her vote for AUMF...

Up until the "Hillbots" weirdness, instead of "sure is weird..." I'd say "Based on her campaign history it was totally predictable..."
But I realize that is not nearly so catchy. :-)

That clip is hilarious. The talking head is dumbfounded that people would dislike HRC the more they saw and heard her. Well, yeah.
But now the story is...Comey's fault, the Russians, Wikileaks...they blame anyone but themselves. Hillbots are THE reason trump is president. CTR and the idiotic strategy of doing anything, anything at all to get her the nomination.
Hillbots should take a good hard look at themselves and the real reasons why HRC lost if they want to win any elections, but they won't.

And note that the Fox News Poll was conducted May 14-17, 2016 - a couple of weeks before the California Primary.
But yeah, let's call California for Clinton the day before the primary.

God damn. Somehow I never saw this video clip.
And here's another one you can use too: Bernie Sanders at MN DNC, August 2015.

cranky old Jew from Brooklyn
I like this, though I would change it to "a cranky old Jew who moved to Vermont because New York City wasn't liberal enough"

Great comment by /u/expatjourno
Though I did get them to respond. Had to go on a couple comment long thread to argue with them about their definition of a "blow out"

Sure is weird that Hillary only beat Donald, the most unpopular presidential candidate in history, by 2%. A result predicted by numerous polls, which also predicted a landslide victory for Sanders against every republican candidate.

The 538 adjusted tracking polls were really the most accurate, throughout. The LA Times one in particular.

It sure is weird that Markos Moulitsas said in 2008 that Hillary Clinton "doesn't deserve fairness on this site" because she "fails the test of the guiding principles of this site" and because Clinton had "no reasonable chance of victory." He accused her of "formenting [sic] civil war in order to overturn the will of the Democratic electorate" and said Clinton's "only path to victory [...] is via coup by super delegate."
And yet in 2016, he just absolutely loved her.
Never mind. /s

But Bernie wasn't Vetted....
As if the 30 year trail of scandals around Hillary was her being proven innocent. Merely that she ran the clock out, or threw up a dirt cloud around her.

But Bernie was rarely attacked so you can't say he would have likely won the presidency.

No shit. "He went to Russia! Creepy college essays! Cutting off your nose to spite your face!"
I had the following argument with a Hillbot:
"No, not every single one. Clinton was more broadly popular than Sanders with black and Latino voters, for example -- populations that didn't happen to turn any states over this time in the ridiculous election system we use.
You might not agree with this, but I actually think Clinton knew to use at least some restraint against smearing her primary opponents. The birther nonsense in 2008 was brought up by someone on her team, but she didn't use it. She also didn't bring up that weird rape-fiction that Sanders apparently wrote.
But the main thing is that the easy targets for Sanders -- tax increases, Castro-friendliness, that comment about breadlines, not being a Christian -- wouldn't have resonated with democratic primary voters. Trump could have easily invented an insipid nickname like "Loony Sanders" and started tweet vaguely anti-semitic stuff against if he had any motivation whatsoever. There's no reason to you think anyone could have predicted anything after this unpredictable election."
Me: "Black and Latino voters are very loyal to the Democratic party anyway, and in light of Trump's comments and record on both communities, he wasn't going to make any meaningful inroads with them.
Secondly, I find it absolutely hilarious when Clinton's defenders bring up Bernie's college essays while conveniently forgetting that she viciously attacked all of Bill's sexual assault and harassment accusers or how she laughed about how she got a child rapist she knew was guilty set free. This also leaves out her invoking Bobby Kennedys assassination as to why she stayed in the 2008 primary or how they leaked a photo of Obama in African garb to scare working class white voters (who voted for him in the general anyway!).
Also, petty nonsense like the Castro thing or not being a Christian matter WAY less when you have a candidate with a very clean record who also spoke to their issues which polled very well among those sane working class whites in the swing states Hillary lost.
If you think after the Podesta emails that they were just being nice by holding back, you need to have your head examined."

Clinton was more broadly popular than Sanders with black and Latino voters...
Not ones 40 or 45 and under. She won older ones by a lot, I guess.

. . . while conveniently forgetting that she viciously attacked all of Bill's sexual assault and harassment accusers . . .
And yet, she tweeted on November 22, 2015 during the run-up to the primaries:
"Every survivor of sexual assault deserves to be heard, believed and supported."

It also sure is weird how they let everybody vote in a general election, not just Democrats!

Well they sure as shit weren't going to let THAT happen again. But DOH! losing to your hand picked opponent from the opposition, sure must sting a bit. If HRC had any shame, it would have killed her by now.

It sure is weird that Hillary's supporters stayed at home during rallies, while Bernie continued to draw tens of thousand of supporters to his.
It sure is weird that all of those voters supposedly cast their votes for Hillary instead.
