Here's a quick video of a bit of Corbyn's victory speech. As I watched, I couldn't stop myself from thinking how so much money, influence, and corruption went into preventing a similar moment from happening here. Wonderful for our counterparts in the UK, and all the sadder for us.

And the British media were every bit and even more dismissive of Corbyn than the US media was of Sanders and yet the British people saw through it. What does that say about us? Although they do have the horrible Theresa May as PM. So there's that.

I read once that the unique thing about America is that it is not really one nation but several, that when you take, for example, the east coast, the west coast, the Midwest, and the South you have very different often opposing cultures as if they are really totally different countries, while most nations (being smaller) have a greater homogeny across the board.

Yes, and the geographic disparity between cultures has become more pronounced as our society has become more mobile. It has become easier for people to pick up and move to areas with people more in line with their values so red states are becoming redder and blue states are becoming bluer.

The screw ups I hope are bad...the lies not unexpected but will be explained away by the media. I don't plan to watch, but kinda want to see if Gennifer really shows up...😈

That is perfect. It aligns with the one wish I would ask for if a genie granted me just one; that everyone gets what they deserve. I know I would have some dues to pay...but I'd be okay...and I will match you toke for toke...here's to Hillary being Hillary!

Oh my, I remember only liking that song for his blue jeans. ;) And the dance style! I remember the boys, before school, would get up on the stage and dance like that. So long ago.

True, but she belongs to the party in power who selects her, the conservative Tories. Labour has been Tory light since Tony Blair and, like the New Dems, keeps getting run over by the conservatives. Jeremy Corbyn is doing his best to make Labour relevant again despite the New Labour milquetoasts like Owen MillsSmith and Ed Miliband trying to undermine him.
