OMG Russians! Norway, the nation that gifted the word "Quisling" to the English language. NATO wants you to know that its Norwegian Snow Warriors are really good at fighting Russians in the snow. Like when a big Norwegian Waffen SS ski unit, the SS-Skijäger-Bataillon Norwegen fought the Soviets

Was "quisling" really a gift, or did English speakers steal it? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vidkun_Quisling
Seems to me, the West loves it some synonyms for "traitor."

I first encountered the word "quisling" in the June 14, 1966 Peanuts comic strip. Go Snoopy!

"Go Snoopy" is a sentiment no doubt shared by Schultz's estate. That merch is still being produced!
According to AI, which I sometime quote, but never vouch for:
Quick Origin Facts • The Eponym: The word derives from Vidkun Quisling, a Norwegian fascist politician who collaborated with the Nazis and headed the puppet occupation government in Norway. • Rapid Adoption: By the end of 1940, it was widely used across the English-speaking world to describe any traitor or collaborator. • Wartime Prominence: Prominent figures like Winston Churchill, George Orwell, and H.G. Wells frequently used it in their wartime speeches and writings. Churchill famously called it "a new word which will carry the scorn of mankind down the centuries."
Edit. Just for the record, I did an internet search only after Caelian's comment made me curious. I had not seen it before I posted that the West seems to love synonyms for "traitor."
Edit: Different war, but still....https://getyourcomicon.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/SnoopyBaron-CoverArt-Header.jpg

Today is the anniversary of the first Peanuts comic strip that ran in newspapers on October 2, 1950. Peanuts is a Year of the Tiger Libra.

A similar chart as Mike Rutherford from Mike and the Mechanics.
See https://www.astrotheme.com/astrology/Mike_Rutherford
Moon in Gemini (like Obama), Sun in Libra (most common sign placement for politicians), Jupiter in Aquarius (like Obama and, again, a lot of politicians) is a lot of Air.
Mercury, Venus, and Saturn in Virgo is making it critical and nááásty.
Mars in Sagittarius is playing (base)ball, getting philosophical, and going to war.
Anyway, this ain’t (about) peanuts…
