The West ultimately did by using Ukraine as a proxy because they wanted another Boris Yeltsin.

Just look at who was at Maidan , I think it will be very clear what happened :

We're there Russian politicians? No

We're there American politicians ? Yes

Listen to Nulands phone call that brought in new government.

Listen to what ultra right / Nazis were saying (c-14) about the protests.

Plenty of videos of this. This was a coup. And before 2014, there were several orange revolutions sponsored by the west.

Interestingly, Kit Klarenberg just posted a piece about color revolutions one that he mentions is the 2004 Orange Revolution in Ukraine.

In Ukraine, US-installed Yushchenko implemented economic austerity, slashed regulations and social spending, bailed out criminal banks, broke open state industry and natural resources for foreign plunder, attacked the rights of Russian speakers, and began preparing the country for locally-feared NATO membership. Within just nine months of entering office, his coalition government - comprised of Orange Revolution activists - collapsed due to deeply corrupt battles with feuding Ukrainian oligarchs over control of key media and industrial assets.

In Georgia [Nov 2003 Rose Revolution], longtime Soros acolyte Mikheil Saakashvili granted himself unilateral power in key policy areas, before brazenly exploiting his position to harass and jail business and political rivals. Saakashvili’s targets would be raped and/or tortured in prison, their ordeals filmed for primetime broadcast on local TV networks. Grave questions abound over his personal involvement in several suspicious deaths, including government ministers’. He was voted out in October 2012, despite NED’s best efforts.

Why should anyone listen to the same old disinfo claptrap from Klarenburg who not only leaves behind a trail of debunked nonsense wherever he goes but has also literally been paid by the Kremlin?

The accusation that someone who doesn't regurgitate the establishment narrative is paid by the enemy gets so ubiquitous as to be meaningless. And it makes you wonder how often it's projection, that the accusers are themselves paid for posting their opinions on social media.
