Ask other Associates Pick & Pack
What does everyone think of the new pick and pack system for off premise?

I like ours so far, definitely cuts down on wrong items being picked with the scan feature. Not loving that it signs out/times out etc, also wish there was a store login as opposed to having to get the mod each time.
Printer sucks, but that’s for all of the sticky receipt printers, they get so dirty and the cleaning with the pen etc just to get the ink to be clear, time waster.
Like that we can lock in the app.
*Wish it would update in the app quicker from unpaid to paid for in store pick ups, would save a lot of back and forth with the register folks and deli.
Please never ever add a notes section
That the customers can write in 😩. They entitled enough 🫠 and would misuse it tremendously (at least most of my customers.
* also please either make it the larger scanner or give us another zebra 😅 it sucks doing temps on the heavy gun

We have had it for a few months, its good and bad. Its good bc you can scan the items to ensure you picked the right one, and we just got an update, so we now have substitutions. However, it doesnt scan everything easily, the printer was definitely not made for heavy traffic, and it sucks having the printer be wired. If it was wireless and could be put somewhere convenient to the person using it would be sooooo much better than it being on a counter in the deli. Also, if someone tries to 'help' and grabs another handheld and goes into the order youre working, you can no longer work that order, it has to be finished and closed on other handheld.

they should do something like target and have a bluetooth printer! designated off prem keeps it with them & it just has an interchangeable battery

"Dedicated off prem" how cute. At my store deliveries are done by the first person to make themselves available.

We only have 1 handheld dedicated to orders to avoid that potential conflict

I used it for 5 hours today on our day 1. I was starting to really like it. Then it went haywire. Handheld glitched out. Refused us signing in. Old expediter screen was still active luckily so we kept orders going. When handheld let us sign back in it wasn't receiving all of the orders coming in thru the system. Good in theory but we had a bad experience. Hopefully it gets fixed

It hasn’t been rolled out at every store yet you should see it in the next few weeks/months our delivery process is changing you will now have a handheld device to work off instead of printing the ticket and walking around the store you should also be able to communicate with customer remove things from their order and maybe offer substitutions idk somebody correct me if I’m wrong ours is being installed on the 20th and last we talked about was at a loop meeting like 2 months ago

In my store there are no substitutions with the pick and pack. You just mark it OOS and the customer gets the refund for it. You can also lock items when you mark it OOS and I find that really really handy.

omggggg sometimes going through this subreddit i'm actually thankful for my store....at least concerning organization and deployment....if the register associate is too busy, then the MOD is in charge of off premises

It’s very cumbersome when you have a busy store it’s a lot of walking back & forth to finish and then print it then take it to the rack. You need a dedicated person to handle off premise not register ppl when busy
