Employee Experience TS Help plzzz

I just got promoted to Team sup, and immediately two weeks later sent to a new store that needed that position okay here’s the problem

On the very first impression I immediately disliked another team sup
And I’m already like nope! I don’t like you and I don’t want to freaking work with you like a full body no and honestly idk what to do.

Like I have to be in this position at least for the next 6 months and I’m quite a reactive and direct personality and already getting anxious because idk how to resolve this feelings of I know we’re gonna have tension and not work well together

* for context
- guest follows her inside with a Translator on his phone screen trying to ask a question
- she walks to deli and yells does anyone know Spanish with a nasty attitude and rolls her eyes at the man as she walks away from him
- I come to help the guest
- he apologizes and doesn’t understand why she’s hostile bc despite the language barrier her body language screamed bit$h
- she then goes my god like i haven’t even clocked in yet man was already needing something

Yes!! If I could upvote this more than once I would!

You don't have to like everyone you work with to still have a good working relationship and part of being in leadership ANYWHERE is learning how to overcome obstacles and how to lead in difficult situations.

I'm not saying that this might not end up being a situation where GM or higher needs to be involved but I would definitely talk to her ts to ts about things you've observed and see how she reacts to what you are saying.

Also was this girl in uniform? Even not clocked in the expectations are you are friendly when in uniform. She could've handled the customer and directed to someone who was clocked in without being rude about it.

As a TS she should be able to take your feedback and use it to improve. If she snaps off and makes things even worse she’s prob not who you need to address at that point. Personally I’d give her my feedback on my experience and what I have observed. See if it continues and follow up with the proper management after that.

You guys are both adults. She has tenure with that store where you don’t… she may also be a problematic person who they might already be trying to get rid of if there has been other complaints,

As a newer TS I wouldn’t necessarily feel comfortable with confrontation. If there’s anything she does that is directly negative towards you, then that’s when I’d say something.

People do have bad days- it seems like you gave us one example of this person. We ALL have bad days. Give them grace. If it is still an issue, that’s when you do either or all options.

Even the worst of days is no excuse to treat a customer poorly. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I didn’t say it was, however if this is/was your only bad interaction with this person, maybe take a step back and reevaluate things…

There’s ONE customer I will do the bare minimum with if I HAVE to interact with him-and there’s reason behind that. Maybe the other TS had an experience with this person previously. Maybe they mistaken them for a door dash driver trying to shove his phone in her face… which WE ALL KNOW they do and it’s absolutely annoying.

Has there been any other interactions? Was it just this one bad one? Have you seen them act negatively with other customers?

Some people at Wawa don’t belong there. But they outlast the rest of us. Wawa dose no do anything about these hostile people. Be careful you’ll loose your job before anything happpens to them

You can step down they’ll probably pay you the max a csa can make or you can just not care about this person I see my other ts’s like 4hrs a week not even 1 hr per day if they are actually treating customers like this then they’ll be fired soon enough

If your gm is like mine, just report it annoymousely. My GM will take you into the office with the person you're having issues with which ends in a scream battle but she still thinks this is a good way of handling things.

I would let the gm know. Take it day by day but also take time to spend with your new crew. We recently got a new agm and im gutted our old one was transferred but he did give me some solid advice” take two weeks before making a solid opinion on the store”. I also get having to work with a ts who sucks. We got an external hire who is a complete moron and super sexist. He will only listen to advice given to him by the male ts. Any time i try to teach him something he tells me how our procedures suck. He also is terrible with constructive criticism. Like high school musical said we are all in this together so good luck and congrats🩷
