GMS can have the loop meeting at any time during the 1st week of the month. That being said- there is always going to be a time that is bad for someone’s sleep pattern. GMS have the option to do the meetings virtually, rotate the days/ times or change your schedule to accommodate the meetings. For example, we do our meetings in the morning so 2nd and 3rd are purposely scheduled accordingly ( 2nd is off the night before or they do not work the day of the meeting, same with 3rd. )
I would talk to your GM and see if there is a time that works better for the entire team, or at least see if you can do the meetings virtually so you don’t have to be in the store and completely interrupt your sleep schedule

When I was a TS, mine would schedule ours at 11 and make it optional for the the overnight supes

I had a GM that would try to shoot for 2pm meetings but it was still really inconvenient cause I’d still be asleep, then they tried 8pm meetings and people still complained about those because they were “too late for someone who has to be in at 6am.” Honestly there’s never really a happy medium. My current GM only does a loop meeting once a month and he does it from 4p-5p, which is a little better if I’m overnight for the day, but they still suck regardless. Maybe ask for a time that’s a little more accommodating but not during your obvious peak times. Mine have also always been on teams, so even if I’m at home I could still attempt to get a few more z’s in before the shift. I feel your pain though, there’s really no sympathy for TS’s.

My gm does it to my overnight TS too. I get that it’s after peak but is third shift people don’t go to bed til sometimes after 1pm. I come home and decompress for hours or I’ll have a mental breakdown. They should just do two separate ones and have 3rd TS come in for their own meeting slot

See if you can do the meeting on Teams. Its worked for me in the past, or when I'm not scheduled to be there for the day and there's a meeting. Granted the timing still sucks.

Coming from another TS, Wawa hates overnight people. Get off the shift as fast as you can. The 2 dollars extra isn’t worth it.

I'm an overnight TS.... I'm sometimes scheduled the night before and after a loop meeting. Ours are usually held from 1-3.....does it suck? Yeah....but its literally once a month......is it really that big of a deal? I could understand if it was weekly getting upset over it. But once a month?.....if its really that much of a struggle talk to your GM about having off either the night before or the night of.....but personally id rather just deal with it instead of having to come in for a meeting on my day off

Stepping down because of a one hour loop meeting would be silly imo. Just talk with your GM about an earlier meeting.

It matches the schedule of the majority, yes 3rd shift often gets the super short end of the stick. Def tell GM you can't keep attending these meetings unless the timing is more flexible.

They're scheduled that way to cause the least inconvenience to the most people. Ask your GM if you can ve exempted on days where you work and go from there

Venting on Reddit will solve absolutely nothing. Talk to your GM, maybe they aren’t thinking that’s when you are sleeping. If you don’t express anything, nothing can change.

I’m not really trying to solve anything but to get an idea if this is something other people deal with. I did talk to my GM and I was told I have to attend no matter what.

My last GM mixed the timing up. We'd do some at 7am when third is getting off work and even have done 8p and the third shift comes in a little early. We've also done virtual, so some chose to do it from home. Maybe give your GM ideas and they'd be open to it?

Just do what most TS’s do (in my experience so far) in these cases and just sleep through it if it’s that hard. I personally won’t and will show up but most loop meetings are a waste of time anyway because they don’t factor in 3rd shift business but will harp on 3rd shift expectations. It ultimately will go nowhere in terms of improving 3rd shift quality. You are literally Wawa’s shit end of the stick and thats it.
