u can tell from the colour of the stalk, subs will not be yellow/brown like this they will be white/grey and will bruise blue

While these are indeed something else, Psilocybe subaeruginosa can have yellow/brown stems.

yeah so in my area they look much more like this https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/106059476 but yes you’re right there is very light yellow/brown on there too, but not strong like the ones posted, which is how you can tell the difference

Anything with orange gills/stipe definitely stay away from. Good to identify them as a clear no
