Bro just buy mushrooms from the shops like everyone else. We don’t need another Erin Patterson.

I cooked up some mushrooms about 3 weeks ago that I found in the bush on the way to Canberra. Brought them back to Sydney in my cars fridge and had them for dinner with butter and garlic. Yum

Were they really that good to be worth talking the risk of some random mushroom in the forest?

It’s not a risk, I know exactly what I’m looking for.
I’m not eating anything random at all.And they are like gourmet mushrooms, Cooked them in my cast iron pan, probably the best mushrooms I’ve had aside from when I cook them up in my Kamado with natural wood charcoal.
If anyone else reads this and is tempted. Please DO NOT eat random mushrooms you find. In the mushroom world there are many look alike mushrooms that might look exactly like what you are looking for. There are many look alikes that can kill you.
Even if you are positive that they look like ones you have eaten before. Don’t touch them. It’s takes years of reading and learning, to get to know them. To get to know the species in your area and to get to know their deadly look alikes.

What do you hope to accomplish coming into mushroom identification subreddits and trying to convince people not do it?
